Question about Motorola Mobility RAZR V3

Confused Phone My Razr v3 is about 3 months old. When you turn the phone on, it initially starts up normally, but then goes to a screen that says "please wait", and then goes to a screen that says "IM Account [New Account]. It gives you an option to exit, but it just goes back. You cannot dial the phone or use any other feature, but it does recieve calls. We took it back to cingular, but when they opened it up, they saw a red dot, indicating water damage, and said the waranty was void. The phone has to our knowledge ever been wet. The phone did start working normally again for a week or so, but the problem has resurfaced. Whats up with this?

Hi There, The red dot does indicate that the phone got some form of liquid in it. Sometimes parents give toddlers their phones and they bite on them thus getting saliva in the phone which is a form of liquid. I hope this wasn't the case. Sam !

Motorola RAZR V3x Whiye screen problem

I have managed to fix the problem by doing a software update.
I stumbled across the solution..........I had the phone connected to the computer when I started it in the 'boot loader' screen as opposed to just turning it on. This time the computer recognised the phone was connected and through the motorola software update program I was able to update the software and the phone now works fine.
BTW I did lose all my address book, messages etc.
To start in the boot loader screen hold down the * + # + pwr keys all at once.

Problem

Try the phone while plugged in and see what happens.  If it works fine then it's probably the battery or the contacts to the battery.  I've had a problem with my razr that's similar to this.  My razr is on the keys light up when i press something but the screen is completely blank open and closed and all the buttons work.  Best thing to try is leave out with battery and sim card out and it might start working again.  However if it is only 2 months old it should still be covered under warranty.

Bootloader USB INIT

this happens to phones that have had water damage or something else and a way that might make it work is to take the battery out for no more than 60 seconds and put it back in and push the *,# and power buttons at the same time and if the blue screen comes up, while on the screen push the buttons and hold them until it goes normal. it worked for me

Motorola RAZR V3 - Problem With Buttons

my son's phone is about 7 months old too and today when i turned it on it would not go past verizon welcome screen, no matter what. i don't use this phone, but if your volume controller is on the keyboard it could be that the keypad is going bad, which appears to be common with the razr. if it is the keypad, you can pick up a keypad flex cable for about $12 on ebay, and it's a very easy fix, but if it's just 7 months old, i'd return it under warranty, that's what i'm going to do. Let me know what you find out. I just think it's really strange that our phone suffered no damage of any kind, it just quit.

Razr- turning on camera makes screen turn black but keypad stays lit

the easiest thing tpo do here is take it to a professional but if you want to try updating your software off the Motorola website. (this require a data cable or bluetooth in your computer) This fixes a lot of software problems with the razor. If this doesn't work then you will have to reflash your Firmware which is like the Windows Xp of the phone. This does require a professional as it can destroy the phone
