Question about LG LD65EL Dehumidifier

1 Answer

Dehumidifier Present % indicates "Hi"

When I first bought the unit, the present % indicator showed the current humidity level (example: 70%). Now it doesn't show the humidity level, it just shows the word "Hi". How do I get it to show the current humidity level?

I have the same problem. I just bought the unit and the first time I turned it one, the display setting was 55%. I left for a couple of hours and when I came back it the setting display is 'Hi'.

I have just bought a Keystone Dehumidifier and do not know how to set the humidity level. The screen is showing 41, 39, etc. when it is operating. It changes continuously. Pressing the up and down pad does not do anything.

It is showing high because the present humidity is above 80%. Try turning the humidity setting down and let the dehumidifier run for a while. Once the dehumidifier lowers the humidity in the room this level will go lower. If this persists after running for a while you will need to contact LG for service. They back these models with a 5 year warranty. Here is the number to contact them at:

I cant change humidity levels

Hi Ra Ma,
After you have set the desired humidity, the readout will display the actual room humidity. It has a built in hygrometer which will be on the display while it is running.
You change it and it shows the actual levels.

See page 5 on manual.

I am showing a HI on my current humidity/set humidity display what does it mean

The HI indicates that the current humidity is 90%+ in the room/unit. You should check if the filter is clogged. I've seen this message in dryer locations when the dehumidifier coils ice up. Check the coils (behind the filter) for any build up.

If this is a brand new dehumidifier, leave it on for an hour to see if it auto-defrosts. (A similar wait is needed if the room is cooler that 60 degrees F.)

If the unit continues to freeze up and the room is over 60 degrees, you may have a refrigerant leak in the dehumidifier. If it is still under warranty (5 years on the cooling system), contact Haier. The warranty service number is 1-877-337-3639.

The manual for the DE65EK is available here: . You will need Adobe Reader or a similar program to access the manual.

I hope this helps.

I have an LG model LHD65EBL dehumidifier. The humidistat will not change from 70 when I push either + or -. The fan runs well and the compressor sounds like it is running well Some water comes out when the...

Prt of the problem may be a dirty or clogged air intake filter.

Turn the unit OFF and unplug, it before removing the filter to check and clean it.
You can ether vacuum it or if it's really dirty & clogged, wash it in warm water and mild dish washing liquid. Rinse thoroughly, shake off access water and allow it to dry completely, before reinstalling it.
Never operate the unit without the filter in place. As this could damage the unit.

Plug the unit back in and turn it ON. Try lowering the humidity extraction level now, using the arrow down button. For a very damp, humid basement application 35% is a good setting to start with for several days.

Hope this helped you and thanks for choosing FixYa.

Unit will not return to normal operation. Code P1 indicates the unit is in defrost. No frost present on the unit.

The unit may need to be reset. In which case, turn the Master ON/OFF switch to OFF. Unplug the unit for 10 to 12 minutes. Plug it back in, turn the unit ON and set your controls for the humidity you want to remove. This should resent the controls for you.

Hope this helps you solve the problem. Please let me know.
