Ok, here is the problem. Last night there was an electrical storm and our power blew (several times). This morning my stereo receiver is DOA. The led over the power light flickers on and off and, initially, I could get the thing to power on for a few seconds at a time. When it did power on there was a lot of clicking from the relay on the power board. Now it just sits there and flashes the led and occasionally the relays click and the lights flash on and off on the front panel. By placing a screwdriver on the surface of each enclosed relay and using it as an amplifier of sorts I can hear that the relay on the power board, below the fuse, seems to be the one making all the noise. Can anyone advise me as to whether or not they think this really could be fried and if so, can I replace just it or are there other components I need to check? I have several volt/home/component testing meters and access to several o-scopes as well as the original technical docs (schematics) on the unit. If some one could point me in the right direction I figure I ought to be able to fix the thing. TIA! ~daniel
Your system has taken a hit of sorts from what you describe. The power supply needs to get a clean bill of health before you tackle the output devices. Let me know how things go up to that point...accordianman
