I think this means it is dying. mine started to skip and then promptly stopped reading the disks too. i was told it may be the optical lense and it may be better to buy a new one than have it fixed. my problem now is that i can't find a replacement that is not upconvert (i see no difference in the component cables vs. hdmi). i am sad to lose this player. love it.

DVD Player doesn't recognize disks present

Get a DVD cleaning kit and follow instructions, if this fails the laser pickup assembly will need to be replaced, not cost effective to repair cheaper to buy.

I got a DVD In the player now I can not find it. I have skipped disc and it is not there and for awhile I was able to put a disc in an it would play now it just says reading.

I would suggest to insert a lens cleaner and see if that helps. If it doesn't it means that the lens will have to be replace.
Let me know if you need further assistance.

When I load a dvd on the screen it shows loading but it never starts to load

try to check if the player can read multi types of dvd disc if not play only the required disk or check the region setting of the player and set it to multi region

My DVD tray on my Yamaha DV C6480 (it holds 5 DVDs) got stuck in the half open half closed position. It may have come off the track. I opened the case and reinstalled the DVD Tray. Now the tray...

This happens to us all the time. Here is the note I keep on how to fix it quickly:
When tray gets messed up, the drive wheel (with pegs that interlock with pegs on the tray) needs to be such that the tray slides in and out freely. Push tray all the way in. Turn on.

Hope that gives a hint.

I have an older DVD player. COBY DVD-404. I downloaded pictures from my camera to my computer onto a DVD-R disc and then again onto a DVD+RW disc. Neither disc would play on my player. It comes up on...

Your 'old' DVD player is the problem. It is unable to 'read' picture files. Time to put the COBY away and upgrade to a DVD player that can read .jpg, .jpeg images. Most new players do and they are not that expensive.

Disc is not being read, not spinning

I had this same problem with my Apex AD-500W DVD Player. I decided since everyone said the player basically needed to be replaced it wouldn't hurt to go through the buttons on the remote just to try and figure it out......I DID!!!! I turned on my DVD Player, inserted a disc, turned on my tv and then hit the SYSTEM Button right below the power button until the screen said MULTI and the machine started working perfectly. There are 3 settings in that button, PAL which made my screen go crazy, NTSC ( i have no clue) and MULTI(this one made it work)! Hope it also works for all of you!!!

Error H02

I had the same problem and found that the motor that spins the cd so it can be read would start and stop. I opened the case removed the assembly with the motor and placed a drop of 3in1 lightweight oil on the shaft of the motor ran it a few times and now it works perfectly fine. Good luck hope this helps you as well.
