Iriver 899 I have only one side of headphones or output jack, left side
is very faint, fuzzy at best. I know through the process of
elimination that it has to be some type of audio output problem because the files are unaffected.
I contacted iriver direct and they said they don't repair out of warranty items.Found one, on their refurbish page, but
now they don't sell them any more.
I hope some one can help,I really did a lot of research
orginally to find this unit(it was the only one at the time
that had an analog stereo line-in that would record and
store in MP3 format).........thanks JB

Che k the end of ur headphone jack also check where its being put into possibly to rule out its not faulty headphones i sugest try them on something else then u can rule that out
What i would recommend you to do is to use a different headphone jack....I am a DJ also and certain headset doesnt work properly when you have it all way..try a different one and let me know the outcome..
Thank You

It's
unlikely your headphones or speakers are bad, but it's worthwhile to
eliminate these as the source of your problem at the beginning. Try your
iPhone with another set of headphones or speakers just to make sure
that the problem is with the iPhone.
Bad audio jack
The
most likely cause of audio output problems on iPhone 4S is a bad
audio-out jack. If you have determined that the problem does not lie in
your external speakers, you should replace the headphone jack. please follow the steps and fix it. God bless you
MANAGER connection type
In the second column next to GO, enter the word manager or select POPULAR KEYWORD.
On the page right side a list shows up.
Select the iriver music manager to see the information how to download and install the software. The manager for the computer matches the manager firmware in the player.
Normal repair shop can't fix it
iRiver will not send you the headphone jacks, although you can purchase a broken iRiver on Ebay and obtain jacks for this purpose - be careful - you are risking other damage to player
You must get the entire player replaced
Sorry, but this is true of nearly all Mp3 manufacturers.
This is the only answer I can give you, because it is the only truthful answer.
Have you tried using different headphones? If they work, then the headphones you currently have may have some faulty wiring. If different headphones do not work, then there may be something wrong with the headphone port on the iriver. If there is a problem with the headphones, the best solution would just be to buy new ones. It is much less of a hassle and much less costly. If there is a problem with the iriver's port, it would be best to take it to an electronics store and have them find out exactly what is wrong.
