Rotate the Mode Dial to SETUP select Date and then press the "enter" arrow key. You can find the detail on page 120 of the user manual which you can download on the link below: http://www.nikonusa.com/pdf/manuals/coolpix/5900_7900_en.pdf

Do you have the self-timer turned on? You could go into the camera menu and find "reset" to return to default settings.

It's telling you that the clock needs to be set. Go into the setup menu and set the date and time. If the problem persists then the clock battery needs to be replaced.

I can't reset my Atomic Traveling Alarm Clock C17DD2090(WIC#6930
First, make sure you have new batteries in it. Then you have two choices:

Hold down the 3rd button -- the antenna button -- until the little antenna sign displayed on the right starts blinking and "broadcasting"...and then wait for the clock to set itself.

When that doesn't work (LOL), try this:
Hold down the "Set" button until each of the various fields start blinking. Then press the up button (3rd one) or the down button (4th one) to adjust each field to the desired number, etc. At least, that's what my office technician did to set mine. Good luck.
