F1 is a flood sensor fault code. The problem sometimes comes from loading the machine above the top of the drawer. When the inside lid comes down before the dishwasher starts, it cannot seal completely and water can spray into the outer cavity. The water accumulates in the inner bottom where there is a sensor. The sensor protects the electronic components from getting wet by warning you of the water which you cannot see. The solution is to remove the bottom drawer and wipe out, then dry the compartment with a fan or a small space heater. Once dry, the machine will function as usual.

SOURCE: My dishwasher keeps flashing F1 error message

The f1 code is caused moisture in the electronics part most likely in the door.see if there is any way that you can see where moisture might get in and plug that spot up. In the case of the f1 code when not using the dishwasher leave the door propped open to help dry out the electronics.

F1 means that water is in your basepan--- you can pull the bottom drawer out and soak up the water with a towel... you will have to use a hair dryer to dry underneath the control sensor in the back left corner.

SOURCE: Top drawer on my dishdrawer

Hi,

Usually F1 means that there is water in the base pan below the bottom drawer. This usually happens because something was stacked too high in one of the drawers when it was running and this caused the lid to not seal up when the drawer was shut. To correct the issue, pull the bottom drawer out. There are 2 square plastic push tabs on the right and left side of the drawer just behind the front panel. Pull the drawer forward and push in on these tabs. This will allow you to pull the drawer out a bit further so that you can gets towels in the base pan behind the drawer.. Soak up all the water and leave the unit unplugged for 24 hours to let it dry out. Once it's dry, the F1 error will not return. If the F1 error does re-occur, then unfortunately you will need to replace the small filter board in the back left corner of the base pan under the plastic housing because that is what senses the water.

If you don't find any water under the bottom drawer, then you have a shorted control board and it will need to be replaced. This is the board under the plastic cover in the base pan in the back of the dishwasher under the bottom drawer.

Let me know,if needed further assistance.

Hope i helped you.

Thanks for using ' Fixya ' and have a nice day!!

F1 Error code

F1 is flood error. basically water has arrived at the bottom board. you can unplug the dishdrawer, remove the bottom drawer and dry the board at the bottom, maybe with a hair dryer carefully. this will reset the fault, but this is a fault that may appear again. replace the actuators that close the lid of the drawer that is leaking (look for signs of water running our of one of the drawers).

Errors and restarts

will need a description of the problem. Some of the common fault codes are F1, F2 and F3.
All these fault codes stop the dishwasher and will not go away until the cause is removed. Please indicate the problem you are experiencing.

F1 Error Code : Kenmore Self-Clean Electric Range. Oven wont shut off. I can silence the F1 alert but it keeps coming right back on every 30 to 60 seconds or so. Range top burners work fine, but oven

An F1 error code usually means that the temperature probe isn't sending the correct signal back to the control board. Try disconnecting power to the range for at least a minute. If F1 displays after you cycle power you may need to replace the EOC (Electronic Oven Control).

Our F & P dishdrawer keeps coming up with f1 and a picture of a spanner have tried turning the machine of at the switch for 24hr but is still doing it

Water has collected at the base of the dishwasher under the drawer.
This triggers a flood switch and causes the F1 error.

Turn the mains power off and extend the drawer out as much as possible. Take towels to dry the base from inside. Also use hair dryer ot dry out the flood switch mounted at the base.

Turn the power on and see if there is any difference. The cause of water collection could be many. Foam in detergent or kink in drain hose or drawer door gasket leaking etc.

Bosch dishwasher lights turn off when running, but are on again when door opens SHV46C03UC/21 I replaced the control board with new OEM board last week, because heater relay was blown. Dishwasher now works fine and runs normal length of time. For this family of dishwashers, the buttons and red lights are on top of the door Bosch SHV46C family; full model name shown above. A thing I noticed is that the red wash indicator lights now turn off when I close the door and start DW running. When finished, no lights are on either. BUT, when I open the door at end the proper lights turn on again indicating dishes are clean and cycle that was selected. So, indicator lights are correct except they all turn off when DW running and door closed. With the original board, the indicator lights would stay on when running and I could see them. 1. Is this some change to the latest board that I just have to learn to live with? This DW was made ~19 years ago. 2. Or, is there a way I needed to program the replacement control board I installed to this specific model? Regarding #2, I'm asking this because I have read that some control boards need to be programmed to the certain Bosch model, but I'm not sure if this one needs it. I ran test mode for original and new board, and I think this new board passed because it did not show any error code with a solid indicator light, though one indicator light was flashing which I think just meant it was still in test mode until I powered it off. Thanks, Chris
