I can turn on my camera, but the screen goes black and won't turn off.

When i turn on my camera The screen shows for about 2 seconds, and then turns off. I try to turn it off by taking out the battery but the lens stays out and doesn't shut off. I did turn off once but i tried to work with it again and it never turned back off. I tried recharging the battery but that didn't work either.

Did you push in the battery all the way so it clicks? I forgot to do that at first. =\

Please check if the LCD backlight isn't turned off by pressing DISPLAY botton (it may be labeled as DISP or with a display icon) several times until the screen appears, if this doesn't work perform the following reset procedure on the camera:

Locate the RESET button on the camera.
Use a pointed object (like a ballpoint pen) to press and hold the RESET button for 2-3 seconds.
After 2-3 seconds has elapsed, release the RESET button.

You could have an inverter problem or a faulty CCFL lamp/s.

The l226wtq goes black

Try shining a flashlight on the screen, or without the flashlight, try to see if you can distinguish anything on the screen at all, if you do, the backlight is dead, or the monitor has an internal most likely unfixable problem.

Have you checked the display mode you're in? If you have the display set to off (to save power) and also the picture review time set to off, then you'll just see a black screen. Try pressing the 'Disp.' button below the screen when the camera is on - it should cycle through different settings with each press: Off, On, On with picture info. Similarly, in the playback mode this will show you more or less info about the picture you are viewing.

Even if the display is switched off, if you have your 'review' option in the menu set to anything other than Off (i.e. 2 seconds), then you should see the picture you've taken appear on the screen straight after taking it.

If it's not that, then I don't know the answer....

LCD Screen Goes Black

well u can turn it on by holding the vlume button for about 2 or 3 seconds. and u can also access the camera, media player and profile settings from the front by holding the camera button for about 2-3 secs.
