Previously it had 100+photos on the camera which I've managed to transfer succesfully. I've not had any issues with either the camera or the memory card for the last 2 years. Now it won't let me take any pictures at all. Just says 'memory full'. If it was just a fault with the memory card then I would've thought there would be sufficient memory in the camera for some photographs. Can anyone help??

Hi christoph8550,
Please follow the below steps :-
Make sure that you remove any memory cards from your camera and then switch on your camera.
After you have done that , you would have access only to your camera's built in memory for storing photos.
Now , try clicking a photo and see if it get's saved, if it does , then you need to format your memory card even if you feel you have it empty and then insert and check if the problem persists.
If it does not save and give you the same error , now it's time for you to format your camera's internal memory , just deleting them is not enough many times.
After you have done formatting this problem would go away for sure.
Let me know in case you have any queries.
Hope this helps ..:)

The camera is telling you that the internal memory is full. To get your card to work, you must clear it. With no card in the camera, go into the menu and find "format" and follow the on-screen instructions to erase the internal memory. Then, your card should work unless you formatted it in the computer, in which case you'll have to format (completely erases it) it in the camera.

Try NOT connecting your camera to your computer.
The best way to download pictures from your camera to your computer involves removing the memory card from the camera and plugging it into a card reader (either built-in to the computer or connected via USB or FireWire). This is likely to be faster than connecting the camera to the computer, and won't run down your camera's batteries.
Once the card is plugged in, it will appear to your computer as a removable drive. You can use the operating system's drag&drop facility to copy pictures from the card to the computer's hard drive, the same way you copy any other files. Or you can use any photo cataloging program.
