Service the steam and spray mechanism:
Unplug the iron.
Use a fine sewing needle to unclog the steam valve assembly. Also, check the valve spring and replace it if it is broken or has lost tension.
If the spray pump is accessible, remove it and check for leaks by placing the spray tube in water and squirting the pump. Clean or replace as needed.
God bless you

SOURCE: Tefal Pro Express Steam Generator Iron

Irons are generally not worth repairing. That said, try to clean out any mineral deposits with a mixture of 1/3 vinegar and 2/3 water. Put in the usual amount. Warm the iron, try to get steam. Empty the iron and do it twice more. Then, rinse it out with plain water.

You may get lucky!

SOURCE: tefal proline express steam generator iron needs de scaling

Make a solution of half water and half white vinegar. Fill up your iron and get it good and hot then let it sit a couple hours. flush out and repeat as necessary. Hope you find this helpful. Please give me a fixya rating If this works for you. It works very well as long as it is not completely filled with scale. Once you have it good and clean By a gallon of bottled water at the market and use that for your Iron and you will never have a scale problem again. I learned how to do this 20 years ago from a 80 year old woman from england. If it is really bad you can up the vinegar concentration but do not go higher than 2 cup to 1.

SOURCE: Tefal Pro Express Steam Generator doesn't.

OK... so I have fixed my problem of NO STEAM, just lots of water coming out of the iron press plate itself... I had already cleaned the boiler, so I tried adding 1/4 tsp - 1/2 tsp bicarbonate soda to the water and flushing it through. From what came out of the iron press plate, I would say the problem was caused by a build up of goop (technical term) inside the iron. Once cleared, the iron is steaming away again. Please note, u will need to have an old towel handy if this is ur problem, 'cos until it starts getting better, there is a fair amount of water coming out of the iron press plate. Just add the bicarb to the water reserve and use the steam buttons to bring the bicarb through. Do not attempt to iron clothing with the bicarb in the water!!! Carolyn ;)

SOURCE: brown dirt coming out of steam iron

You're seeing hard water deposits and maybe a little rust. Use some CLR and pour in the iron and let it sit with it off. Shake it a bit and let it clean it all out, then rinse with clean water. (Vinegar will work too)

SOURCE: I have a Swan S15040 steam generator iron, the

I had same issue , now , once you turn the unit on , you should see displayed 3 steam jets and the flashing standby , turn the dial on the iron to max ,press the steam button on the machine to max steam , leave for a minute or so , now press the steam button on the iron , does it make a noise ? if it does , slightly raise the whole front end of the unit ( easier if you have the iron on the worktop and not on the unit !) for a minute then try and press the steam button on the iron again . I think there is a bit of an issue about the conection between the water tank and the filter . This solved my issues and i do hope it will help you .

The iron has been all descaled, however we cannot get any steam when pressing the button. It is a Tefal express generator model 3 years old.

Once you have descaled the boiler and refilled your frontpiece of the iron itself (hopefully with distilled water - any supermarket) you press the "reset"/ "restart" button on the back end of the steam generating unit. When the water is hot enough press steam button & turbo button a few times - WARNING: make sure iron is facing downwards and cover ironing board with old rag because initially brown steam splatter will come out on first few steam releases.

Hi guys. I have a Hoover ironspeed IS21-1 steam generator iron. I love this iron it's the best steam generator I've ever had but now once it's heated up and I go to use it as soon as I press the button...

Try unplugging everything that is using that circuit because it's possible that you have too many items plugged up. Also try other outlet.

How do I get the boiler on my rowenta steam generator to fill? I was given this model.

You should only use distiller water in the steamer. Never ever use tap water! This is what caused lime and scale build up.
Since it's to late, you have nothing to loose by trying this to descale the unit:

Put up to one cup of white vinegar into the reservoir. Fill 3/4 of the way with water. Turn unit on and let it heat up, but DO NOT RUN STEAM THROUGH THE LINE. Once heated up, turn unit off and let it set for hours. Drain and rinse well. Then run a water only batch through the steam cycle. There are companies that sell special de scaling solutions. But hopefully, the vinegar will work.

How do you clean a Bosch B25L (TDS2510GB) using the calc'n clean facility?

THE LINK DOESNT SEEM TO WORK SO HERE IS THE INSTRUCTIONS FROM THE MANUAL.
Calc'n clean
Cleaning the Boiler
To extend the life of your steam generator and to avoid any build
up of scale, it is essential that you rinse out the boiler after several
hours of use. If your water is hard, increase the frequency.
Do not use descaling agents for rinsing out the boiler, as they could
damage it.
1. Check that the appliance is cold and unplugged for more than 2
hours, and that the removable water tank (1) has been removed
from the steam generator.
2. Place your appliance on the edge of your kitchen sink.
3. Unscrew the boiler drainage plug (15) located on the bottom of the
appliance using a coin.
4. Holding your steam generator in an upside down position, and using
a jug, fill the boiler (in the base unit) with 1/4 litre of water
5. Shake the base unit for a few moments and then empty it completely
over a sink or bucket. To obtain the best result, we recommend
that this operation is done twice
6. Important: before reclosing, make sure no water remains in the
boiler.
7. Replace and tighten up the boiler drainage plug with a coin

I have a Rowenta DG-980 steam generator. It spits little grains of something when I use my iron. It doesn't hurt my clothing, but I have to brush the stuff off my clothes when I am finished ironing them. I...

Hi, Rowenta recommends that you use clear filtered drinking or bottled water only. I believe them because the system uses brass & aluminum throughout, so salts or acids would cause corrosion. To clean the system totally, after each ironing session before I put it away, I remove the blue reservoir completely, and run the burst of steam several times until the boiler is empty, and red light indicates it is out of water. I shut the power off and unplug. Wait at least an hour or so, access the boiler tank plug on side & if it is cool to the touch, remove it using a coin (quarter), drain and flush the tank several times with the cleaning tube that came with unit or filtered/drinking bottled water several times over the kitchen sink. Finally, drain all the water completely out of the boiler (I leave the plug & cover off to making sure it is completely dry before putting everything back together, ready for the next time). After several use cycles of the above should clear out the debris. My 1st experience with a used DG980 had exactly the same problem. P.S. before ironing the first article, use several bursts of steam away from the ironing board surface to clear out any standing water that was is in the system. Hope this helps :O)

Tefal Pro Express Steam Generator Iron

Once you have filled up with water and always just below full line, if your model has one, you need to press the "reset" or "restart" button on the back end of the generator (the end furthest away from the water container). Also, do be sure to regularly descale as advised above otherwise the water/steam can't get through.
