I can type I: into the address bar then hit Enter and can access my files just fine. This started after I was saving something to my jump drive and it ran out of disk space. I'm going to reboot. If that doesn't fix it, I'll copy my files off of the drive and format. I can type I: into the address bar then hit Enter and can access my files just fine. Re:
First, have you tried it on another computer? Basically, narrow down the problem- is it the SanDisk, or something with the USB ports on your machine?
Assuming it is the SanDisk, try formatting it. You should be able to format it under Windows Explorer...properties... Or, go into Control Panel... Administrative Tools... Computer Management... Disk Management
If you had files on it- they will probably be history. You could Google for recovery utilities, but such getting your files is doubtful.
Hope this helps!

I would recommend plugging your Cruzer into another computer. It's possible that your computer has corrupted or incorrect drivers for the flash drive. This is one cause of the yellow alert in Device Manager. If you move the flash drive to another machine and it works, you can save your data and make a backup copy. If your Cruzer doesn't work in a different computer (I would try at least 2 other working computers), it's possible that the flash drive is faulty.
It means that your System Administrator (IT people) shut off the USB ports so you can not bring in outside files -or- remove files from your work computer.
Some companies do this for security reasons.
The only way around this is to contact your System Administrator or IT people and state that you need the USB ports activated...
But they may say no to your request due to company security standards.

Is the account that your tying to access the drive with an Administrator account? If not, Log in as Administrator and try to access the new drive. If you ARE using Administrator privileges on the vista machine, the problem lies in the U3 smart driver. Try downloading and installing the drivers for the XP SP2 os on scan disks website, If vista rejects the install package off of the scan disk website, let me know and i'll extract the drivers and build an install for them for you.
