Aurora AS1512X Cross Cut Shredder

When I insert paper past the sensor inside the paier slot, the yellow reverse light flickers on once, I hear a click like a safety relay and then nothing. The shredder does not run. Any suggestions? The box is clean.

I looked inside and do not think it is jammed but that is certainly a possibility. I have fed staples into it but very few, no clips. The green light comes on with power but the yellow rev light comes on when the doc feed micro switch is activated off the top feed... when I put paper in.

Sounds like the cutter is jammed. Do you ever feed staples or clips in it? Will it reverse? If not, the power borad is burned out.

It is a light duty unit. Unless you are willing to take it apart and see if there is a jam or you can move the gears that turn the cutters. Make sure it is turned off!! Not worth repairing or replacing the board.

Shredder does not engage on auto

Find the activator switch on the slot where the paper goes in. It is probably clogged with paper particles and can't sense you puttin new paper in.

My aurora shredder as1512x will only go in reverse. What could be the problem and is there some where I could buy a new switch if the switch is no good? Thank you

I was having the same problem with my shredder. I called customer service; I was informed it was the gears on the inside of my shredder. My shredder is no longer under warranty. However, she is mailing me out the part I need for a small fee. Their customer service number is 1-800-327-8508 in the USA and international only 1-310-793-5650. I do hope this help you!

Hi, my Aurora AS1002MSB is jammed and it will only go in reverse. Is there any way to fix it?

Hello,

Move the power switch to AUTO (l) position and depress the manual forward button for five seconds to clear paper blockage. Make sure the paper is engaging sensor located in the center of the shredder opening.

Good luck....

Hi I have a Aurora AS1512X it was working fine until I emptied the basket. It only goes in reverse now. Nothing lights up when I press auto for forward.

I was having the same problem with my shredder. Always make sure your shreder is not under warranty before you open it because once you open the shredder it voids the warranty with Aurora! Only runs in reverse

I just had this problem with my shredder. I think the problem started with a bin that was full. Running the shredder in reverse resulted in shredded paper being pulled up into the slot used to feed paper into the shredder. Some of this shredded paper was blocking the little plastic tab that activates the switch when paper is inserted, so the shredder would no longer start when paper was inserted. I emptied the bin and removed the shredded paper from the feed slot, being careful not to break the plastic "sensor" while removing the paper from under it. The shredder works fine now.

Our Aurora AS1712X paper shredder is jammed in a couple of places with paper so badly that we cannot free the jam and the tooth wheels cannot turn freely. Is there an easy way to clear the jam?

Try running the shredder in reverse and oiling the blades. More help with paper shredder oil here: http://hubpages.com/hub/Paper-Shredder-Oil

If you can't get the paper shredder up and running, it looks like you might have to pick up a new paper shredder. Paper shredders can be pretty cheap though, great guide to cheap paper shredders here: http://hubpages.com/hub/Best-Paper-Shredders

Aurora AS1010TX Will run forward for 1/3 of paper then into reverse.

I'm going to say it needs oiling. Try oiling the gears and cutting blades. You can buy paper shredder oil at Office Depot or Office Max.
