No green color in Sony Wega 55inch TV

All of a sudden I have no green color in the picture on my tv. My blue menus are now purple and I'm not seeing any greens. Please help! Super Bowl is coming and I don't know what to do! I don't have $1000 to just run out and buy a new tv.

The picture has a green tint to it on all channels

The color signal consists of Red, Green and Blue. Those three colors, at various degrees, make all the other colors on your screen.

If you have a BRIGHT green screen it's best you don't operate your set.
If it's just tinted green then there is a problem on the CRT (Cathode Ray Tube) drive board. Do check your "tint" setting and see if someone misadjusted it. If that isn't it then you need to have your set on an electronics bench and get an estimate for repair.

Intermitant color bursts of red, green, purple

Kevin,

for the color problem, most likely you do have problem with loose contact of components from C-board ( small board connected at the back of CRT "picture tube" which drives every color and size of the screen)if you have knowledge with soldering electronic component parts, resolder this board and also check main board for possible loose contact.

cheers,
mark

2001 sony wega 36" tv tube

If you turn the color all the way off the picture should have good black and white if not the crt is at fault. If it is good it could be the jungle ic or the possibly the red color driver in the crt board

Hello im having problems with my sony wega

It sounds like you have a loss of green. This could be caused by the green gun in the picture tube opening up or the drive circuit for the green gun gone bad. Stargazer
