Hi, if you're going to run a smaller wire, you also need to use a smaller fuse. A 50 amp fuse is needed for 8 gage wire. The fuse is there to keep the wire insulation from melting, which is what will happen if you run too much power thru the wire. If you don't plan to turn the amp up too high, this may work fine, but I would test it first with a 50 amp fuse before installing. You will need all of the speakers hooked up and the gain set to max to test the power draw. See the following link on wire sizing for more info: http://www.bcae1.com/wire.htm
It is stable only to 1.5 ohms so your best choice would be the 15.4 with dual 4ohm voice coils. In parallel, this would offer a 2ohm impedance. The 15.2 could only be wired for either a 1ohm load (too low) or a 4ohm load (less power).
Check your fuse at the battery. While AGU glass fuses "look" good, when you read the voltage AFTER the fuse, you can only be getting 5 volts or so. I can't tell you how many times I have seen this.
IVE HAD 2 JL 1000/1S DO THIS TO ME EACH TIME ITS TURNED OUT TO BE A SHORT IN THE RCA IMPUT BUT ALSO CHECK YOUR RCA CABLES AND THE SUB INPUT ON YOUR HEADUNIT
well you need to check to see if nt no shottage with the amp and also check if the fuse is not to low amp 20,,,, 25 if not put the amp in a separet 12 volt battery
Well this is interesting, Let me start by saying if you have a 2 ohm load and your system is set for 4 ohms you are going to overdrive your load and burn up your amplifier, maybe not right away, but sooner or later it will fail due to electrical and thermal stress bought on by power dissipation issues.
Yes you can get 2000 watts out of your amps, but the correct way is to bridge your amplifiers if you can, and terminate them into the proper load.
