SOURCE: dead battery for one unit won't charge at all. voltage -0- both radios and charger work fine. where can I get battery? P/N MN-160001 capacity 950mAh

First put the dead laptop battery in a zip lock.
Then put the zip into refrigeratory and keep it in freezer for 14 - 15 hours.
Afer waitinf for a long time, take the dead laptop battery out of refrigeratory .
Using clean and soft cloth to dry the battery and get the battery to room temperature (about 20° - 25°)
In the end fully charging and discharging the battery for 3 - 4 cycles.
Now you would see that your dead battery holding up charge for 1-2 hours.

Low battery on a tk3202 two way radio

Hi Patrick,

Are you using rechargeable Ni-Cad batteries?

If so, buy Li-ion Batteries, Ni-cads have a memory and will recharge from last charge only, rather than fully charge.

Lithium Ion Li-ion batteries don't have memory issues, and therefore will recharge fully.

These are available as rechargeable types so, look for the rechargeable types.

I hope this has been helpful.

Best regards,
Peter

My walkie talkies will not charge wheni place them on my charger, whywont it work

If neither of them work, then that would suggest something common to both... the Charger? Are you sure it is OK? Is it making good connection, give them a clean/scrape. Otherwise it could be dicky batteries, they go faulty all the time & for no apparent good reason.

The radio is not charging has new battery

Check your battery contacts on/in the radio, battery and charger. Clean with a pencil eraser if needed. If your charger will accommodate the battery alone, try charging the battery outside the radio. Does the charger's light (if any) come on and stay on when the battery/radio is attached? If so, your charger is working properly. If the light (if any) on the charger is flashing you may have a shorted or bad battery. Check your user guide to the radio/charger for more information. Finally, periodically a battery has too low of an initial factory charger to start charging on the charge immediately. Try placing the battery on the charger for 3 complete charge cycles, and see if it will then charge. If the battery is new, you might want to contact the vendor for a replacement.

Kenwood th - 79E playing up

Charger should be able to power the radio at 'EL' level, if NOTHNG happens, I'd say charger is on the blink.

Shuts for no reason

Check the battery first..... alot of times a person will put a battery in a chager and let it sit. They will think the battery is fully charged but it may not be... In those battery packs there are a bunch of smaller batteries all tied together. Alot of times these commercial raios will run off of around 7 volts ( check the battery). The battery will only charge up to 7 volts if all the cells inside the battery are good. What I'm saying is for you to charge the battery up fully..... check the voltage listed on the battery then use a volt meter to check the voltage after the battery is fully charged. When a battery has just finished being charged usually it will be overcharged.... a 7.5 volt battery will be up around 8.5 volts for example. So check the battery right after its charged... expect it to be overcharged. If it seems OK, put it in the raio and key the radio for a bit to try and use up some battery power.... then check it again and see if it has dropped drastically. Your problem has to do with power... the first link in the power chain is the battery... check that out... then go to where the battery makes contact with the radio and make sure thats good.... inside the radio there will be a fuse but if thats blown you will get nothing... then the power goes to the switch. Battery... contacts...fuse... switch... that how the power initially gets into the radio. Most of these problems are battery related so I would check that first. If the battery does not have enough power when you transmit with the radio the radio will shut down.... turn off. If its not getting enough current the voltage will drop and once it gets low the radio shuts off. Usually with commercial stuff you will hear a "beep" when this happens. Your problem might be power related... theres alot you can check.
