Maybe you can fix it in the service menu.
Turn off TV, press mute then 182, Turn on TV and check out new menu items

SOURCE: how to realign the picture tubes

You should NOT need to re-align the crts to correct this problem... Chances are the failure is in your convergence circuit and most likely the convergence amps, (IZ103 & IZ104)Samsung p/n#AA62-30173D which may be substituted to an original STK394-250 and you'll need two of those. (Make sure they're not cheap knock-offs).. You may also want to test the resistors feeding those amps for change in value. And if I've lost you with any of this take the set to a qualified tech for the reapir - - you'll be money ahead... Under no circumstances should you need to change or alter the CRT placement. Chances are better for you winning the lotto three times in a row than it being a placement problem...

SOURCE: Samsung HC-P4752w CRT picture problem/alignment issue?

the lines that move are the from the auto self focus on the tv. I have the same model. go to menu and then setup and you can turn the self focus off. The only problem I have with mine, is after the tv is on for about twenty minutes, the convergience is misaligned on the left and right sides of the screen, I am currently trying to figure out how to fix it.

SOURCE: Samsung HCN4727W Rear Projection TV, green screen, audio works

These sets need to have all three colors - RED - BLUE - GREEN - lined up correctly on the screen in order for the picture to look normal. This is called convergence.

When its out of alignment the video will look 3-D, wavy, distorted, etc. Most of the time you just need to adjust your convergence in the menu. If you cannot adjust it in the menu - then your convergence is broken and needs to be repaired. Convergence problems are very common on all Projection TV sets including Sony, Samsung,JVC,Philip Magnavox,Panasonic,Akai2_bing.gif,Pioneer, Hitachi,Mitsubishi,Zenith and others.
You can get more information and a DIY convergenece repair kit with instructions from the link below.

Here are some of the most common problems with these sets...

Problem #1) Convergence

Yours may have one or more of the following symptoms...

*Screen Looks 3-D
*Colors wont align
*Screen may look distorted or warped
*No Audio/Video - TV Shuts down - May also make a constant chirping sound

Problem #2 - Another common problem is dull or washed out video.

Your set may have one or more of the following symptoms....

*Dull looking picture
*White looking picture
*Halos around objects
*Red/Orange looking picture

I Have a Sumssung HCL4715W Tv timer flashes 40r 5 times and Tv turns off

A constantly blinking light means shutdown.

The most common issue in this model is convergence-----if the convergence circuit has railed (this means shorted parts) it can cause the set to do what you describe.

Before I suggest a course of action----what is your skill level with electronic repairs? Can you solder and or do a visual inspection?

Our samsung HCl4715W tv is all connected right but our picture is scrambled where you see double exposure and the color is off. Can not find our manual. any suggestions?

The problem of your tv is the convergence. Projection tv set has a 3 colors red, blue and green this 3 colors must be properly lined up to look the video normal. When this 3 colors is not properly aligned the video will produce a double image of color or like a 3d or wavy. In order to fix this problem you should adjust it in the menu program of your tv you should move any of the colors to up or down, left or right if you cannot align the 3 colors the problem is the convergence ic it must be replace. To locate the convergence ic you should remove the back cover of your tv but be sure to unplug your tv, you will see this ic attached in a large aluminum plate it has a marking of stk--- and followed by a numbers. or you could contact a service technician do do it for you and save you from stress. Good day and best regards.

Convergence Board for hcl4715w Samsung TV

Part can be found at http://www.vancebaldwin.com - the part is located on the floor of the tv, inside, the middle board. You will have to unplug the tv, carefully remove the back (and front speaker cover) of the tv, and unplug all of wires coming into it. You will also have to remove all of the screws holding it down. The replacement part will fit exactly into the same place - screw the screws back in, plug the wires back into the same place (if you've ever replaced memory in a computer, this will feel very familiar). Once everything is plugged back up, plug in the tv and restart, then run the smart convergence from the remote.

If your TV does not power up, and you have made VERY sure everything is plugged in correctly, then the board you've purchased may be faulty. Return it for a new one. The boards are fragile and can be bad straight out of the box (like computer memory *smile*).

Best wishes -

Samsung HCL4715W

It is very possible that there are some parts in the power supply that are failing. This can be from voltage regulation, filtering, or noise problems.
