No! They are no longer made due to the computer generation and slide presentations are usually made with laptops now. You should be able to find one good used one on eBay if interested find your model # of projector and look it up on ebay. They are usually in good condition but make sure lamp works on the one you are buying as these are expensive to replace. Rich
Try Bulbman.com or Bulbs.com or the retail chain called "Batteries PLUS Bulbs".
If they don't stock them, they should be able to point you toward someone who does. Good Luck !! Jim
If this is a Kodak Slide Projector, there are 2 thermal fuses (1 is in the motor and NOT replaceable and 1 is in the area of the lamp). Almost ALL Kodak projectors had 2 thermal fuses as described. You need to determine the model, as that will determine which fuse or motor assembly you will have to buy & install to fix your projector. If its a Kodak, let me know the model and I can help you further! You can buy parts for Kodak projectors at: www.micro-tools.com. Good Luck! Jim
DEK Lamps for Kodak Slide Projectors are almost always in stock at "Batteries PLUS Bulbs" retail outlets. If you don't have one of these stores in your area, try: www.bulbman.com
Be sure you have the specific 3-letter code from the burned out lamp, in addition to the model name/number of the projector. Armed with that, go to www.bulbman.com They have lamps for just about anything !! Good Luck!! jim
Chances are that if the cooling fan is running, then you burned out the lamp. Contact Bulbman.com or Bulbs.com for a quote on the lamp. If your projector is a Carousel 4400, then you will need to replace the lamp with an ANSI Code "FHS" lamp. If that's all that is wrong with the projector the lamp will cost you about $40 (best guess).
First of all, verify you are using the correct lamp: it should be a 120volt, 300watt, ANSI Code "ELH" lamp. (This may seem too basic, but you'd be surprised at the number of people who try the incorrect lamp). If the lamp is correct and you can not insert it by pushing the base of the lamp into the terminal connector relatively easily, then chances are you have a build-up of material on one or both of the lamp contacts caused by arcing (arcing is caused by loose lamp terminal contacts). If this is the case, then you need to replace the lamp terminal assembly (the ceramic-like white piece the lamp terminals should slide into). You should still be able to buy a lamp terminal assembly for your Ektagraphic AF-1 from: www.micro-tools.com Good Luck !!
first off, many churches and schools hang their projectors from the ceiling, and the only time they take them down is when they don't work. it sounds rational, but it gets dusty up there, and without proper and relatively frequent cleaning, the dust builds up and the projector can't release the heat properly. this causes a lot of malfunctions. the ballast is only one of them.
to replace the ballast:
make sure you can get the part from infocus or an authorized service center. it's part # 525-0085-51. after you remove the cover (4 screws on the bottom. you'll need a T10 torx driver. slowly slide the top forward and lift off), gently remove the ribbon cable by sliding the cable locks (on both sides of the cable) towards the front and pulling the cable out. the ballast is at the front of the projector next to the lens and in front of the lamp. pull it out and remove the ballast from it's housing. there are 3 cables coming off- the power plug, the lamp plug, and the lamp enable plug. remove those and replace the ballast. reverse the steps to install.
