Question about Zenith DVT216 System
Purchased a Zenith DVT217 yesterday from Circuit City. It plays the dvds in stereo , obviously, because the dvd player is built into the system. It has jacks for the stereo sound that nothing was needed to be plugged into for video/audio for the dvd to work, just one s cable. I know there has to be a way to hook this to my digital cable or directly to the tv to get surround all the time instead of just when im playing dvds. Circuit city told me no, but then they were also trying to sell me a more expensive system. Please help
Sorry to say, Circuit City is right. These cheap home theatre in a box solutions are very very shady. They put the DVD player, preamp, and reciever all in one little box. Not very handy to adding options or plugs but very very cheap to produce. Ever notice why large home treaters have about 5 big black boxes and a DVD player? This little box is trying to be all of them. If this was a reciever combo(as zenith wants you to think) then you could do EVERYTHING you were thinking would just make sense. Unfortunately, you trusted Zenith instead of Circuit City(gah i hate saying that). At any rate, if you still have receipt, return it!!!! I will help you pick a system to suite your needs. I do all the things you want on a system i got for 500 bucks.
