I have a Kenmore 795.75952401 refrigerator/freezer. I noticed the freezer was running constantly and there was ice buildup on the back freezer wall. I also noticed the refrigerator temperature setting led lights were all off, but the freezer LED's 5-7 were all lit simultaneously. I turned the unit OFF and back ON and the refrigerator and freezer temp settings returned to the default (#4) indicated by the LED's. However, the next day I had the same issue -- the refrigerator temp indicator lights were all OFF and the fridge was not cold, but the freezer was running constantly (ice cold) and the freezer temp lights 5-7 were all lit. I have turned the unit OFF/ON several times and it will run fine for a while, but usually by the next day the same issue occurs. Any idea what is wrong?
Ok,1st check on fridge side toward upper back of the top and feel for air coming thru, and there is another one down possibly behind crisper .I had this same deal. Had to do total defrost,, put food in cooler,, theres two blower fans in these types of fridges,,one in the bottom back,, and one in the back of the frezzer,, I used an old hair dryer and let it blow warm to top interior of frezzer,, careful not to let any cords hang/drop in any water!!,ok once done dry out as much water as possible, turn fridge on set both controls to 4,when fridge kicks on do the feel test,, you may need to close the frezzer door, air should be felt near top inside of fridge,if so than shut fridge side and feel inside frezzer near bottom and air should be felt,, side-by-side need to circulate air from frezzer to fridge, then back to frezzer

Ice build up on back wall could be defrost thermostat or faulty defrost heater

Hey Wisper, I had a very similar problem with my Haier. Read all about it here: http://www.fixya.com/support/t180574-freezer_10_deg_fridge_50 I replaced the thermostat ($35 or so, mail ordered) but that didn't do very much. Then I replaced the Evaporator fan ($40 for an OEM part, read the details on my other page) and that did the trick. Feel free to email me if you want more details of what the job involved. I'm @gmail.com and the address is RobCuthbertson

It is not defrosting. You have to remove back wall of freezer where frost is and take hairdryer to melt away frost. You need to check defrost heater. This is on bottom of evaporator coils. It has wires going to it on both sides. This has to be checked for continuity. If ok on top of coils is a round unit called a defrost terminator. This needs to be checked for continuity also. This must be done before you defrost coils. It should have continuity when its cold.
If these are ok you probably have a bad timer or defrost board.

I finally called GE about the non-working LED's and the temperature fluctuation. It's a known problem as many consumers have posted online. I called 800-386-1215 several times. What I found is I'd get different menu options nearly each time I called. The way I got to a 'helpful' human follows: Call above number; you will/may here a voice that states only 'for recalled appliances press 9' (may also have options for repair or parts) PRESS 0; next menu PRESS 5; you'll hear 'for less than 1 yr old press 1' and 'for more than 1 yr press 2'. In my case I pressed 2, then got a menu with 'for refrigerators PRESS 2'. Spoke to a woman who never denied that GE has a motherboard problem. She offered to provide a free motherboard but no labor. I asked (to be sure) if I would have to pay labor, she said yes or I could have $400 off a new crappy GE fridge. She said I would have to have a repairman come to diagnose the problem, then order the part and then come back to repair. I then said, 'You're telling me that I have to pay for TWO service calls to repair a known GE defect???? How much should I expect to pay for these TWO service calls???' She then asked me to hold, then came back on the line and told me that GE would pay the labor for the repair.
I also asked if GE was willing to do anything about the 25 cent door latch that cracked after 11 months (and is attached to the door gasket a $228.00 part) or the rusting wire freezer baskets and was told no. Hey, worth a try! The fact that they said no ensures that I will continue on my crusade to warn anyone who'll listen not to buy GE! Keep calling, after I got the right menu the wait was short the whole call was less than 15 minutes.

your inside fan has stopped working. Could be stuck or frozen or simply bad.
