Hi,
We have a Kodak C340 Digital Camera. We are not frequent users, a week back when tried to select auto for taking a snap the zoom won't come out. But gets a rewinding sound from it.
Can you please let me know the problem and also how to rectify?
Regards,
Charan

First, make sure you're using a supported card. The C340 works with MMC and SD cards. If your card is larger than 2GB then it's actually an SDHC card and won't work.
If you do have a supported card, make sure the image storage location is set to Auto. In the Review mode, press the Menu button then select Image Storage (camera and memory card symbol).
You can do it through your laptop's card reader or using a card reader device.
Take your memory card out from the camera and put it in the adapter(a card holder) given to you. Now you can use it in Laptops in built-in card reader/ card reader device. If the SD memory card is read only this will not work, otherwise this way you can copy photos to Card very easily. Also you can copy photos from memory card in the same way

I had the same problem. The lower lens wasnt working, but if i zoomed enough the screen would turn back on.. Heres what worked for me.. go into menu, select setup menu, then select digital zoom. and select "off" . now the botton lens should work. take a picture, and then go back into digital zoom menu and select on, and all the zoom views should work!
Oh yeah, it sure does sound like sand. Sure death to zoom lenses. Kodak will not cover this under warranty either.
Unfortunately, Kodak will not sell parts to anyone so you are going to have to deal directly with them.
