it the individual is under the legal age of a state to possess alcohol, then they are not legally allowed to possess it under any circumstance. Exceptions to ******* possession of alcoholic beverages do not exist, and no rationalization as to why someone reasons such possession to be acceptable are accepted by any court in the country should a minor be charged with being in possession of an alcoholic beverage while being below the legal age allowed to possess such items. .

Looks like you have to send your unit away to have it calibrated.
I would send them an e-mail enquiring about cost details before posting the unit to them. And double checking the postal address where the unit needs to be sent.
Uh, you weren't suppose to tamper with the "TAMPER PROOF" breathalyzer connected to your car's computer. The penalty for trying to bypass the "Failed Breath Test" feature the way you did it most assuredly caused the prom to fry in your car's computer. Bad move. Not only will you have to get another expensive computer or 'brain' for your Infinity but you will also have to get another Breathalyzer and pay a steep fine for failure to comply and damaging state property. A friend had to pay almost $4800 to get his car running after he got it out of Impound for his failure to comply charge, to get his driver's license back after it was revoked, fines for the Breathalyzer damage and court costs and to top it off he lost his job because of it. You made one horrid mistake.
There are a lot of things that impact the accuracy of a testing device like that, especially when it is in an uncontrolled environment. Start with the test subject:
1. What kind of beer?
2. How much did the subject eat while drinking?
3. What medical conditions does the subject have?
The testing machine"
1. How is it stored?
2. How old is it?
3. Exposed to anything harsh like high humidity? Temp?
4. What environment was it used in? Cold Hot?
The only real way to know is to test it against another testing instrument or use a known solution of alcohol and water
A breathalyzer "is a device for estimating blood alcohol content (BAC) from a breath sample" (Wikipedia)
It is sometimes carried around by officers for law enforcement purposes.
Did you use any alcoholic mouthwash? Sometimes the breathalyzer detects alcohol in the breath that has nothing to do with alveolar air. Instead of detecting the alcohol that comes up with air from the lungs, after having been absorbed through stomac and intestines and carried around through blood, the breathalyzer detects the alcohol that sits in the aesofagus or in the throat and mouth, either brought up with a burp or deposited from a mouthwash. Therefore the level of alcohol in these two instances is much higher than if an alcoholic drink were ingested, and therefore the officers have to make sure to keep an eye on the suspect to understand if there is in fact too much alcohol in his or her system or if it's a mistake made by their tool.
Yes and No. You can buy your own breathalyzer but it's not a good idea to rely on it.
Breathalyzers can be bought for personal use but these and the ones used for law enforcement do not provide the same accuracy. While the ones that the officers use are approved by the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration and can be faulty sometimes, but provide a more accurate result to BAC (blood alcohol content), the ones that are sold to the public are approved by the FDA and are much less accurate. It is not a good idea to rely on their results as they might lead you to thinking you can drive while instead you drank too much.
nope, i saw a mythbusters episode on it. the penny in the mouth doesn't even work. However, those machines can be faulty, so it is always recommended to refuse the test because if you take it and fail, you are guilty no matter what
