Toshiba 62hm14 TV turns on with no picture but has sound then green light blinks and it shuts off

I have a toshiba 62hm14 and have owned it for 2 years and have not had any problems until now. When I turn the TV on there is sound and the red power light comes on but no picture at all. After about 15 seconds the green light which has no label starts blinking and the TV turns off. It then tries to cycle back on again and does the same thing. It happens over and over again until I manually turn the TV off. I have never replaced the bulb on this TV and it never gave me any warning it was a bulb. What do I need to do to fix this problem. Thanks for any help you could give me. Thanks!

I have the same problem. I thought it was the buld but it's working fine. The red light stays on and the green blinks about 15 times and the TV shuts off. It constantly does the same thing until I turn it off. Maybe it could be dust where I replaced the bulb. I'm going back to troubleshooting... If anyone has any answers please let me know???

I actually found the solution, my manaul for the TV was missing a couple pages, very weird. I found the full manual online and there is a chart that shows what the blinking lights mean. It was my lamp, after I took it out it looked like it had exploded, so I ordered a new one from toshiba and replaced it. Very easy to do, costed about 120 for the lamp but no problems since.

Thanks for all of the responses.

You can look up a chart for the blinking light online, most likely the LAMP HAS TO BE REPLACED $80-$125 ONLINE.

Red/green lights both blink and tv will on turn on

Are the red and green lights blinking at the same rate or not? If the green light is blinking every 3 seconds and the red light is blinking every 1/2 second, the lamp door is not properly secured. If both lights are blinking at 1 second intervals, try replacing the lamp. If a new lamp doesn't solve the problem, the TV needs service.

I hope this helps.

Power problems problem on

I would try a power drain:  Unplug the TV's power cable so the TV is not grounded to the house.  Then press and hold in the TV's own power button for one minute to drain the capacitors. Plug the TV back in and see what happens.  If the TV will still not turn on, I would say you have a problem with the TV's mainboard as a dead power supply will not light any LED's for you.

Toshiba 52Hmx94

How many times does it blink?
I replaced the ballast in my 62HM84 and it fixed it. The problem was TV would not turn On, Red light solid green light blinked 9 times then TV would try to restart. At first I thought it might of been the bulb, so I replaced it, same results. Next I replaced the ballast which is pretty easy, just take pictures before you remove the light engine so you can go back to the picture to verify the connections when reinstalling.
