Convergence problem???? I have a 2002 Toshiba 42H82 projection t.v. that has a blue "ghosting" problem with the picture. I tried the Touch Auto Focus and it aligned all colors except the blue and displayed a Touch Focus Error at the end of the auto adjustment. I tried to manually align the blue through the convergence mode and the blue would not move, but I was able to align the red. I've been reading that this could be a convergence problem which may require replacing the STK or semiconductor. Does this sound right? Also, are these parts easily installed or am I looking at having a repair person coming to my house and it costing a fortune to repair? Any help would be appreciated!!!

i also have a blue ghosting problem that could not be fixed by manual convergence adjustment. i was able to get the red to slide over the green markers but blue wouldnt move far enough and the adjustment icon is distorted (not just out of alignment).



on this model the enter and exit buttons are used to access the menu, then it asks to enter a number from 1 to 9, does convergence need to be adjusted manually for each location? i think yes.



i dont know model number of this toshiba but i got i used with no manual, screen diagonal measures 50 inch, it is probably around 7 years old.



sounds like something i might be able to fix by replacing a component. looking for guidance on what to replace and how to do it. thanks for any help.

Approx. 7 year old 42HDX82 touch focus error with ghosting. Tried auto focus several times. Tried to manually adjust convergence. Can get one side focused, but other side we can not. This side we can get the blue/green to move, but red will not. Tried again to adjust red, but it either won't move or when exit is hit it takes you back to the 1-9 selection screen.
