Usually when cords are wrapped around the base of the plug, it creats a short in the cord.
And most people *do* wrap cords around objects to create convienent space.
basicly it was the cord not the system.

The lead or plug on your charger may be cracked. I have a SP charger but it has a bit of the plastic cracked off and has to be in a certain position to work properly. Otherwise you will need a new battery.
you can normally buy a portable charger , it sounds like the pins in the charger have gone ,so it may be a case of buying a new charger these can be picked up on the net quite cheaply
or you could try getting a needle and bending the pins back into the shape they are meant to be , to get an idea look at your other charger
IF YOU HAVE A VOLT METER , MEASURE THE OUTPUT OF YOUR CHARGER, SHOULD HAVE A dC VOLTAGE AROUND 6V. IF YES, NEXT COULD BE THE BATTERY BAD OR THE CONNECTOR FOR CHARGER TO PLUG IN HAVING CONTACT PROBLEM. HOPE IT HELP.
