In the process you described is sounds as if all you did was plug in your mouse and tried to use it. If you just plug in a Wireless USB mouse receiver into your PC the mouse itself will sync to the receiver and the proper LEDs should light. The problem is without installing the mouse?s specific software drivers that tell your PC how to use the mouse nothing much will actually work.
Did you register the mouse to the receiver? There should be a button on the receiver, the bottom of the mouse or both used to connect the wireless mouse to the receiver. Also, if you do not have a red light on the bottom of your mouse it may have a battery problem.
Press the button on the back of the mouse to free the battery cover on top.
Remove the battery cover and put the supplied AA battery into the mouse.
Replace the battery cover.
Insert the wireless USB dongle into a USB port on the laptop or desktop computer.
Move the mouse and watch your computer screen.
Confirm that the mouse is connected by making the cursor move.
Hope this helps
