Sony KV-32FX20U picture has a colour cast

My beloved Sony KV-32FX20U started playing up recently causing me emotional hurt. The picture has a bright colour cast - mostly yellow but also pink or purple at times. The sound is starting to fade in and out too :-( I'm gutted as I detest flat-screens and love my great big beast of a TV and would do anything to keep it going. Anyone has any idea what might be going wrong with it and how I might be able to remedy it? All advice greatly appreciated, Dushan.

Check its video output card [a card directly plugged on to the back of the picture tube] for any loose solder terminals. Re-solder all the suspected solder terminals there, by applying a little more solder to each points. A bad solder point can cause this type of problem.

SOURCE: sony tv no pic or sound

Sony error codes usually only go up to 7. If the LED blinks 11 times, this usually indicates that either the clock or data line is shorted and this needs to be serviced by someone with experience with Sony sets.

SOURCE: Sony kv-32sf12 -will not power "ON

Try the 60 seconds unplugging of wall plug in your outlet. Or check your line if this have surge protector. Temporary plug your unit to wall outlet directly. Just check if it still within voltage operating range.

SOURCE: no picture no sound

Forward voltage/current problem....needs a new board....You might try unplugging it for a few hours...If the TV starts you will need to leave it on until it gets repaired or replaced.

The picture is greenish

chances are you have a bad tube or bad Video IC on the CRT board that connects to Tube! Look on your CRT Board and replace the video IC first.

Blank screen on startup on Sony KV-32FX20U

All Sony sets will stay blank until the circuit is ready to power the tube. If there is a problem detected inside the set, the tube will remain vlack and the standby light will blink. This blinking will repeat a count as follows: Blink count, pause for a second or two, repeat the blink count, etc. Some Sony sets will play for a while then flash off and on. This is usually an indication that the picture tube is starting to fail. In your case, you should see a blink code. If you can update this with the blink count, I can use that info plus the model number listed above to provide a possible cause and the parts required to repair the set.

Sony Trintron KV-32FX20U

This is a problem with the "AKB" circuit. There is a problem with the video signal. Are you comfortable changing parts inside the set? If so, please update this. I'll look up the specific parts for this model and post them.

KV-32FQ75E colour loss

Go to the Sony website and check out the correct antenna cable and scart lead configuration for your set up. I did and with a few simple connection changes it was like getting a new TV.

It's more than likely the tube, my friend. The chances of it being a power regulation problem is kind of remote at this stage of the game....accordianman
