Computer monitor flickers

My LCD monitor HP VS 15 flickers and turns off. I tried turning on the monitor but everythime it flickers and turns off in about ten seconds. How do I fix this? hello my labtop monitor flickers showing a range of colours help plz

Sounds like the lcd ribbon might have come loose. Or the lcd screen itself needs to be replaced. I have included a link here. The website shows detailed pictures about how to access the parts needed to fix this problem.

The ribbon i'm speaking of is just like the vga cable you use on a normal monitor. Since there is a limited amount of space in notebooks they turned this thick cable into a small flat ribbon.

Try to look and make sure all the connections are tight and as they should be. If nothing changes you will have to change the LCD display.

Check for bad caps with bulging tops/bottom seals in the power supply first, very common problem in all LCD monitors as you can see in my albums here:

Or www.digikey.com just make sure to use caps with low ESR, 105c, high ripple current, long life rating such as PANASONIC FM or FC series.

Look at the power supply first; look for burnt parts, bad capacitors, etc.

Turns on but very dim

This is a 15 inch LCD. and the inverters of these units go south often.
If the unit does not flicker and you do not have a lose of power, it will be the inverter.

Try the monitor with a different computer. If it work, then the problem is the other PC, if it does not work, then your monitor is failing.
