I just bought this reciever and while hooking the power and ground to the unit will make it turn on, i cannot turn it off. i hit the power button and the display simply flashes "muted".
i do not have the unit wired to the ignition; it gets constant power through what i have it hooked to. (i dont know if that changes anything), but i do want it to be able to be run any time with or without keys and therefore i need it to turn off when not in use.

im install cd player for my car, but not sound came out at all. removed it out, try check for connection, but everything was fine. then i did try play around for speaker 's wire speaker. i saw blue ( power ant) just connect to nowhere. then used blue wire to connect for output speaker, then sound show up. but rerarely to heard. cuz sond was too low. even volume was max. i thought maybe they need for more ground to run out put, or sound chip 40 legs is gone. ( need to replace for it?
First of all, you aren't going to like this solution because it's the truth. If you rate me poorly, it's because you don't understand the truth.
The optical pickup is bad and needs to be replaced. Anything made by Xtreme sound is poorly built. Yes, you're lucky to have even gotten four months use out of it. I've seen some that only last for two months and they die. Fortunately, that's why you didn't pay that much for it. I would suggest getting a Pioneer in the future.
