Question about Xtreme Sound WMS336 CD Player

1 Answer

Xtreme Sound WMS336 wont turn off

I just bought this reciever and while hooking the power and ground to the unit will make it turn on, i cannot turn it off. i hit the power button and the display simply flashes "muted". i do not have the unit wired to the ignition; it gets constant power through what i have it hooked to. (i dont know if that changes anything), but i do want it to be able to be run any time with or without keys and therefore i need it to turn off when not in use.

Scource button is red but unit doesn't seam to have power?

your red ignition wire is not getting 12 volts. that is why the cd player will not turn on. to test your voltage either buy a voltage tester or take it some where to have them hook it up and test it

Speakers are crackling

This could be caused by one of your speaher wires being shorted out to ground, OR one of the speaker terminals in the doors or rear coming into contact with metal. If you remove the unit and test it with the speakers hooked directly to the back of the unit and they do not crackle, then the unit is fine. If they still crackle - then you either have two diferent sets of bad speakers, Or more than likely the outputs of the kenwood have been damaged by an improper installation in the past.

JVC KD-G340 Power Problem

I had this same problem...you probably have the wires wrong. Double check your connections for the red and yellow wires from the headunit. Make sure that your red wire is going to a 12 volt source that only switches on with the ignition.

This set has a modification that needs to be done. It will also start turning on by itself and changing channels rapidly. It's two weeks old. Take it back to the Retailer or if that is not an option contact LG at 1-800-243-0000 to get a local servicer in your area.

Shows to be stuck in Standby.

hold down the enter button and the advanced surround button for 5 seconds or so and the amp will restart, the display will come up and hopefully it will be ok. its often caused by using speakers under 8 ohms, or damaged speaker cables etc
