Question about Lexmark Z735 InkJet Printer

Lexmark Z735 keeps saying "no cartridge"

I have a new cartridge in it but it still says no cartridge in it...I have reset, rebooted, unpluged, removed and replaced the cartridge to no avail, please help! I am thinking of taking out the printer and rerunning the program all over again to see if that helps. I have a APC surge protector on the computer, but we have had some bad storms here in Florida lately. Could that have anything to do with it?

We're having the same problem with ours. I tried the eraser trick and that didn't work. This is the 2nd time we're replaced our cartridge, we had no problem the first time. I even tried to put the old one back in but it still gives me the same message.

It could be damaged from power surges, however, I still would be inclined to suspect the cartridge. Like CompuGuy suggested try replacing the original cartridge if you still have it and try again. If there is no chance look at the cartridge you?ll see electrical contacts that match up to contacts on the cartridge carrier. Inspect them all for damage and if you find nothing try cleaning them with a soft pink or white, non-residue/abrasive easer. If there is any oxidation on them that should remove it. Replace the cartridge and try again.

I just purchased a new black ink cartridge for my printer and it is not printer. The printer stop printing. I have a Lexmark X1270

Try to re-seat your cartridges into the printer.
  1. Open the printer cover.
  2. Remove both cartridges from the printer.
  3. Close the printer cover.
  4. Unplug and re-plug the printer into the power source to reset it.
  5. When the printer turns on, re-insert your color cartridge first. Close the printer cover and check for any errors.
  6. If no error appears, open the printer cover and reinsert the black cartridge. Close the cover and check for errors.
  7. If error appears when black is inserted, try to insert a different known working cartridge (your old cartridge maybe) to determine if it's a faulty cartridge issue.
If you can make a copy using the Copy button on the printer operator panel without a problem, then it could be a communication problem between your printer and the computer. A quick fix for most communication errors can be achieved by resetting the printer and/or rebooting the PC. Simply reboot your pc and unplug and re-plug the printer into the power source to reset it. When everything is back on, try to print again.

Lexmark 4350 will not print after replacing colour cartridge and black cartridge

It could be that your cartridges are not seated properly in the cartridge carrier. Open the printer cover and remove both cartridges. Close the cover. Unplug and replug the printer into the power source to reset it. When the printer turns on, reinsert both cartridges. Make sure they are properly seated and secured in the slots. Close the cover and try to print again.
If you're having problem printing from your computer, a quick fix for most communication errors can be achieved by resetting the printer and/or rebooting the PC. Frequently, issues are caused simply by a break in the signal sent from PC to printer or vice versa. Unplugging and re-plugging the printer allows the small amount of on-board memory on the printer to be cleared, with the result that the PC recognizes the machine properly. Programs continuing to run in the background of the operating system (OS) can cause the signal to be lost. Rebooting the PC ends all programs that may be running and makes a 'clean' start, allowing the signal to be detected.

Not printing at all, even with new ink cartridge

Try to remove both cartridges from the printer. Close the printer cover. Unplug and replug the printer into the power source to reset it.
Manually wipe the cartridge nozzles with a moistened soft cloth to clean it from dirts and clogs. Open the printer cover and reinsert the cartridges.
Disconnect the printer from your computer. Reboot pc. When the pc turns on, reconnect the printer to the pc. Try to print again.

I quit typing because I cannot pay for advice. I was originally wanting clarification from advice I saw on this site This is what the beginning advice said: PARTIAL RESET:- Unplug the printer power cable...

If the machine works ok with the old cartridge back in the then new cartridge is faulty. It happens many times that new cartridges fail straight away. This is a particular problem with recycled cartridges and hp inkjects. Use a new genuine HP cartridge.

The ink cartridge that was in my Canon Pixma iP1800 printer suddenly got an error message saying it was not properly installed. It had been in place for months. I ordered a new cartridge. It didn't work...

I will try a printer reset.
Remove both cartridges and close cover.
Unplug printer from electrical outlet and wait at least 10 minutes.
The wait time will let the printer to fully cleared memory and
also to cool down if printer was overheating.
Plug printer back in and turn on printer.
Wait for printer to stop.
Install both cartridges.

Hp PSC 950 gives me a message to remove and check black cartridge

Did you remove the tape from the contacts of the new black cartridge? If so once the new one is in, unplug the printer from power and power it back on, it should do a full check after a power on off.

Re:Canon Multipass C3500ex

Don, have you unplugged the printer for a few minutes? first the power plug, see if that clears it. If not, unplug it from the computer, reboot the computer, then plug printer back in. If not that, when an ink cartridge is refilled (depending on the model) the printer needs to be tricked into thinking a "new" cartidge is being installed. They make their money from the ink, not as much the printer. You may need to check the owners manual to see if the is the case. I have had to use tape to block off certain contacts, then remove the cartidge and block off another section of contacts, then remove tape all together and re-insert the cartridge.
