Question about Nikon Coolpix 5700 Digital Camera

Fogged pictures This started as an off and on problem and now is constant. All of the pictures are fogged with horizontal lines and whited out. The picture looks fine in the viewer, but the saved picture is unusable. Anyone had this problem before and know the fix?

There have been problems with that family of cameras. You can get it fixed free of charge you just have to pay for the shipping there here's a link to the site for the form. The fogged lens is indicative of a damaged seal hence moisture got in. Here is the link to their warranty site, good luck.

its out of warranty so there won`t be any. a recall is for problems that can cause safety problems and a mirror doesn`t fall into this category.

The car was driving fine when suddenly the wind screen started fogging up. The air con was ON auto and temp set at about 22 Degs on defrost at the time. So I increased the fan speed to remove the fog. Same...

This is speculation, but the fogged windshield, the noise behind the dash, and the temperature gauge actions lead me to the heater core. When they develop any leak they fog the windshield, and enough fluid loss or an air pocket could explain the temp gauge readings.

My '04 Fatboy speedo does the same thing. I leave it in the sun for a while, the fog evaporates. Because your bike may still be under warranty, there's a chance the factory will replace your speedo.

It gets condensation from going cold to hot, you can't take them apart without disturbing the seal. The only thing you can do is put it on the radiator and let it warm up, slowly, evenly, not too hot, for about a week. My gps on my bike fogged up and it is in the sun all day, but still won't dry out, so, you are taking a chance. It might not do anything. Hope this helps.

try to use the zoom function during picture preview and you will see the horizontal bands. Time to change to a new CCD i guess..or maybe a new camera :-)

If the photo shoot out show white , the obscure (quality variation), and even horizontal line ( white lines), and so on over-exposure cases, even if the use of anti-tremor, set to default values are invalid, because the camera shutter fault.
