Lenovo thinkpad x200 power button turns on the LEDs but the POST doesn't start.

All LEDs turn off except the plug in, battery, and the one to the left of the battery that looks like a crooked n. monitor never turns on.was working well until this. I've tried pulling the Hard drive and the ram, but it still won't go into post.

I got it to turn on by removing the battery, now it seems to be working correctly. I assume the battery is bad, has anyone else had an issue like this?

SOURCE: Blank screen upon startup

Try taking out the hard disk, plug in power and see if you have a display on your screen or external monitor. if same thing happen, try taking out the memory card. If you hear a beep sound it's a faulty mem. card, if no beep sound appears I suspected it's a motherboard faulty.

Your Inverter board is probably bad. It is inside the LCD unit.

SOURCE: Lenovo Ideapad Z570: Battery indicator shows the Power is plugged in & charging. But the Battery charge percentage doesn't increase. How to fix this?

The battery might be nearing the end of it's useful life and needs to be replaced. The battery only lasts for so long then it has to be replaced.

Buy a battery on ebay base on your computer's Make and model, not the model of the battery.

A burning smell is a good indication that some component burnt up. Could be a fan and that would cause it to shut down. If it's hung on the logo I would start by removing the memory, hard drive and optical drive and see if it boots past the logo. If it does then power down and add one item back in and test again until you find the bad part. Can you hear the fan spinning when you power it on?

Unplug power supply from the laptop and remove the main battery, press and hold power button for 2 minutes to remove any residual voltage. Now replace all items and power on, if no change! check the owners manual for additional information.

Computer will not turn on. when power button is pushed, battery and power cord lights flash on and off. Plugging in does not help. How can I make my computer work again?

Try doing this:

1. Remove the battery and unplug the computer.
2. While there is no power connected, press and hold the power button for 30 seconds
3. Plug the computer back in, but don't insert the battery yet
4. See if it will turn on now, and if it does, insert the battery again.

Sometimes this works to drain some residual power that is still inside the machine. I've done this on a couple of machines and it has resulted in them starting up fine. If this doesn't work, you may have a more serious problem and need to have it looked at by a technician.
