SOURCE: CAN PYRAMID PB-772 BE BRIDGED

i cant find a whole lot of information on that amp or any other older pyramid as they arent exactly the most popular amp but just applying what i know about amplifiers in my opinion i think the amp is more than likely only stable @ 4ohm when it is bridged and @ 2ohm in stereo (using both channels) so yes you should be more than likely able to bridge it because the impulse only came in 4 and 8 ohm voice coils and i dont think they made a dvc impulse so check the sub paperwork . if you dont have the paperwork look at the sub and check for it or get the model number and ill be able to tell you what the ohm rating is on it and remember if u decide to bridge it be carefull not to turn the gain up like it is the volume controll. it should typically be set under half way but you maybe ok going up to 3/4 but i am not sure how it will sound @ that level so if its not loud enough after that you should consider getting a slightly larger amp ( a good rule of thumb that i have found is that the subs rms specification should only be 2/3 of the totall rated rms output at the ohm load that the speakers or speaker are as this should allow u all the spl you want without really heating up your amp and if u ever buy new subwoofers you have more power left in the amps output capabilities because when u buy new subs it is usually to upgade in quality which usually requires more wattage and youll have it

sorry my answer is so long . if u have any problems pls feel free ask me
and again you should be very capable of bridging it just find out the ohm load for the impulses voice coil HOPEFULLY it is an 8 ohn because when bridging an amp it halves the ohm rating on the sub

sorry such a long answer but i just wanted to cover as much as i could in case you have any problems if u have wiring questions or want to see a wiring chart go to www.the12volt.com for all kinds of excellent information charts wiring wizards and here is the link to the subwoofer wiring wizard

thanks for letting me try to help out and god bless

How to hook up a pyramid pro plus 4 channel pb-180px without using rca jacks for 6 by 9s

The pb180 has High Input receptacles on the back end. They are marked High Input and identified as Channels 1&2 left/right, and channels 3&4 left/right. You will need to identify all speaker wires coming from your head unit ( left front +&--) , and so on. You will be sending the speaker wires from the head unit to the pb180's High Inputs. In other words, the front left speaker wires(+&-) from the head unit will go to the High Input Channels 1&2 side, left input of the pb180, and so on, so the speaker wires coming out of the head unit will need to be cut. And LABEL all sets of speaker wires before you cut them! Then on the OUTPUT end of the pb180, you will be sending the wires back to the the respective speaker wires which are going to the speakers. So it's out from head unit to pb180 and out from pb180 to speakers.
Hopefully you have the plugs that Pyramid uses for the speaker wire inputs to the amp. If not you have to get creative, and make up terminals to fit into the input receptacles. Maybe a wire terminal from Radio shack will fit those pins..
Also, if you go on line: Google search "Pyramid auto amps" and click on "SEARCH" (upper right hand) of their Web Page. Plug in your model number like this, pb180, and you'll be able to download the manual for this amp. The manual has a full description of the wiring options.

Hope this was helpful and Good Luck!

Hi,just bought a 6x9 jbl gto937 speakers for my car, each speaker is 100watt rms and 300 max .Can anybody advice on what amplifier should i get for them?I know i can run them without any amp but think they...

Pyramid makes the PB series of amps. I have one that's driving a Sub.
The PB 700 puts out rms 60watts x 2 @ 2ohms, which gives you some "headroom" for your speakers. You don't want to over drive speakers with , for example, a 1000 watts for 100 watt speakers, because that's a good way to blow your speakers.
There are many brands and models of amps that will fit your speakers. Just make sure the amp will drive 2ohm speakers, since your jbl's are rated at 2ohm impedance.
You may want to consider adding a Sub woofer to your setup. A single Sub would fill in the low end very nicely. If you got a 4 channel amp, then two channels will drive your jbl's, and you can bridge the other two channels to drive the Sub. That would be a kick'n sound!
Just make sure the amp is bridgeable
For example, the Pyramid PB 1200 is a 4 channel, bridgeable amp. This particular amp will drive the 2ohm jbl's, but you would want a 4 or 8 ohm Sub connected to the bridged channels.
