The volume suddenly stopped working....yet i cant still change the channel as well as see the channel's appropriate show. However the volume (from the Sony TV Model KV-27V55 27") only make a "clicking" sound when the volume is turned all the way down and the up again. I have tried to turn 'on' and 'off' the mute, and the "clicking" doesnt happen. I have tried turning the Television off for 10 min. and still no change> Not even repeating the above steps (after turning the TV back on after the 10 min break), with no changes in Any RESULTS!
Check whether the mute function is ON or not. If not, the muting section circuit inside has the fault.

I had the same problem and found out that it wasn't making a good connection inside the the Directv box.The box was changed and that solved the problem.

If the screen won't come on then the diagnostic will never show. The 4 blinks is an error code. If the set is older than 12 years then it doesn't owe you anything, you got your money's worth out of it. Average life of any tv from that genre is 8-12 years. It's time for a new set, or take it in for an expensive repair ( pending parts availability).

5 times flash light shows that your TV has white balance error. If you have basic knowledge of electronics, then adjust G2 voltage of tv. hope problem will be solved.

SOURCE: No Sound Issues
Hello!
Try the audio out. Run the audio to a receiver to see if the audio is there. If it is, then I'd leave it hooked up to the receiver and save yourself some money. If there is not any low level audio out then I'd fix the set. The only Sony set I've ever seen that was not worth fixing was a 32" model from the early 1990's that had bad picture tubes after only 5 years. I am a Sony factory trained tech. Good Luck!

SOURCE: My remote worked fine, but suddenly won't work
Could be the IR receiver in the TV.
Make sure nothing is in front of the TV that would block the IR from receiving commands from the remote, I've seen customers put VHS tapes on the front of their TV that caused the remote to not to work.
Good luck
