Any component can cause your problem i would also check the motor as the brushes wear down, and when this happens no water comes in and the machine appears dead ,after a while the dial will start to rotate to tell you that you have faulf

These machines are a problem! the dial clicking round can be a component fault - ie pump etc - or a module fault. from what you describe, fault could be with the pump. an easy way to check is to power the pump up independently and see if drain works ok. (i assume you have checked the filter) after that, check continuity in the heater as well. if both of these are ok, you are faced with a module fault
