LETS SEE , check out first your REMOTE CONTROL , it could be that some buttons are stuck sending signals . this is how your going to check : lay down your remote and using a digital camera , point it to the EYE of the REMOTE , now look at the screen of your digital camera , if you see the EYE of the remote BLINKING !! thats your problem there. hope its works. all players will not play certain disc's I.E. DVD+r or DVD -r , check to see what disc your using and try another original disc. Clean the glass eye near the spindle, use 90 % alcohol with swab, gently. Please rate.
I had the same problem and went through all the solutions posted for other Phillips DVD players, here's what worked for me:
1. Power on 2. Open the tray 3. Press SETUP on remote and select PREFERENCE PAGR 4.Enter 138931 5. Press OK 6. Use up/down on remote to set the region code to 0
Following steps will sole the problem.
1. Power on
2. Open the tray
3. Press SETUP on remote and select PREFERENCE PAGR
4.Enter 138931
5. Press OK
6. Use up/down on remote to set the region code to 0
I don't know if this will work for you since your Philips universal remote is a different model. I tried all the codes listed for a Philips DVD player in my Philips SRU3004/27 universal remote manual. Two of them partially worked (wouldn't let me scan forwards and backwards). The last one they listed did work, code 1214. I suggest trying all the codes in the handout that comes with the remote for Philips DVD players. Make sure each number you press registers (the indicator light on the remote will blink). Philps also lists these codes on their web site. Good luck!
Since the codes that Comcast gave you did not work, there is a very high possibility that the remote control is not compatible with the DVD player. You cannot expect universal remote control to work with all devices, regardless of its make. Philips does not have codes for this DVD player because it is the maker of the universal remote control that sets the codes.
DID YOU MAKE SURE THAT ALL THE PICTURES WERE IN JPEG AND NOT BITMAP SOME TIMES THAT HAPPENS. SO THE BITMAPS WILL NOT PLAY AND THE FOLDER WILL BE BLANK. I HOPE THIS HELPS
