TECHNICS SL1200MK2 RPM Buttons getting stuck..

After 7 years of faithful service, my SL1200 MK2 33 and 45 RPM buttons are jamming up..Sometimes the light is on both when I try to switch between 33 and 45, or it takes a few taps to change it back. The problem seems to be (I am not a real tech nerd) the 33rpm button (it feels a bit loose or just old or something when I hit it..)..Probably need to open it up and just clean it or something, but is there an "easy way" to get to the top or the turntable? Any ideas? Cheers, Ed C Melbourne Australia.

The air switch on a bathtub is located in the bath pump. Your description sounds like you are asking about the air button which is located on the top lip of the bath tub.

I'm having troubles getting my garage door to close. It will go up just fine but when I hit the wall switch when its fully up, I hear a click followed by the 5 flash trouble code. I know this means its...

First of all I have a question. If you cannot get it to close how do you know it will go up just fine?

All your symptoms and the things you have checked still point to the trolley being jammed against the stop bolt. The fact it will not move even an inch says jammed trolley or the up and down limits are completely misadjusted. Remove the cover from the motor unit and look at the limit switch assembly. Make sure the up and down contacts are not both contacting the center contact.

A few things come to mind;
1) Feed rollers in tray are either worn or dirty
2) Transport tires are dirty
3) Fuser worn

If you've had this for 10 years and have not done much to it besides a toner or drum then I would recommend taking it to a qualified technician.

This is very common to Ford vehicles. You can get a new brakelight switch pretty cheap and to install it is very basic, you can do it, IO have faith in Let me know. It's just a matter of pulling a pin out and disconnecting the connector. That's it!!!

Braking not working right

Well, does the platter spin at a constant speed (33 or 45 rpm), or does it spin super fast? If it spins at a constant speed, and it just wont stop, replacing that pot should do the trick (VR201 can be purchased HERE). You can attempt to replace it yourself (soldering skills are required), or just buy the part, and have a service tech replace it for you.

If it does not solve the problem, then the issue is with one of the IC's (integrated circuits). This is a more complex diagnosis and repair. But try replacing VR201 first, then taking it from there.

Good luck!

Technics SL1200 MK II Speed problem

this one happend to me!! try taking the plastic cover off, under the platter and removing the screws that hold it on if that cures it its because what you ll find is that the screws just catch the underneath of the platter as it rotates. happy mixing
