I changed a printer cartridge and the lid is stuck open. HP 3310 Photosmart. I did reseat the cartridge I changed to no avail. I am most curious how this can be fixed without forcing the lid down. Thank...

hello, well, you can take off the right cover, with printer unplugged, and disconnect cables that connect to the scanner top cover area. the hinges have press lock that will require you to press up, and slide towards the front and lifting up at same time. the scanner will come off, using #10 torq bit, take hinges out of machine, if you some white grease or light weight lithium oil, use it in and around the actual hinge area, basicly what your working against is plastic on plastic, with a powerful spring, so do this carefully and try not to pinch your fingers, it hurts alot. try slowly to open and close hinge slowly, if it does not move freely, don't force or it will break, that spring used is under alot of pressure, so do it slowly, lube and try to move, lube and try to move. when it works smoothly put back together

Printer lid wont shut

Make sure you have successfully seated the cartridges you replaced. They may be preventing the lid from closing.

The lid to my hp 3310 is stuck open.

Check back by the hinges there should be a catch that locks the lid up just release the catch. If yours does not have this check to make sure you don't have to lift up again to release the lid. These are the only problems with that type of printer that I've seen, I hope this helps if not let me know and I'll do some research and try to find an answer for you. Good luck.

Unable to close Lid

Sounds like the hing on back is broken. Look on the back of the cover, there will be 2 hinges holding the scanner on. Probably a piece of plactic broke and is hanging up one of the hinges.
Possibly a small spring.
