Question about Mitsubishi WS-65869 65" Rear Projection Television
I have a Mitsubishi WS65819 purchased in 2001 that started having the convergence bowtie problem about two months ago. With the help of this message board and MCM Electronics, I fixed it with no issues this last weekend. Thanks a million. One question, before I performed the IC replacement, I noticed that the red horizontal line on the basic X convergence screen was elongated. I assumed this was due to the bad ICs. Unfortunately, after the set warms up a minute or two, the red convergence shifts. On the basic red convergence screen you see the hotizontal line become longer and shift to the right. Is this a calibration, convergence, or lens focusing issue? I have already had a repair guy visit and charge me $100. He suggested that the ICs I used in the repair were defective. I replaced the ICs again, but unfortunately it did not solve the problem.
Im thinking about buying a ws65819 mitsu. tv that has the convergence problem, sometime when its on it works fine and othertimes its like the picture is sucked in in the middle. How do i fix this problem, is it the IC, is it hard or expensive to fix?

I did not change the ground resistors. Do I need the service manual to identify them or are they easily idetified?
Convergence, my screen was also bowtied. The repairman replaced the IC's and when it wasn't any better, he told me it would be another 700-800 to repair at the shop and would take them 2 months.
I paid him the 95.00 for the visit and after reading this post feel that he just didn't know how to fix the problem onsite.
