JVC GR-D270 My camera seems to be stuck in safe mode. Cannot turn it on or off unles I release the battery. Anyone got any ideas?

I cannot get into the settings to change to defaults. If I press menu nothing happens.

Try to put the camera on default settings without using battery, that is using power adapter, do this 2 to 3 times, it will solve your problem.

This is what is called a mem lock-up and to escape you need to press reset, though you will need to set up the clock etc again.

thats a hardware problem .u must to open that camera and remove mechanisum u can c there is a small board behind that mechanisum .remove that board and c there is rubeer which connec to caption motor . that u put right condition than it will work

Camcorder in safe mode won't eject tape either

Remove the battery and let the unit rest for a few hours, try again.Tap the tape door, the tape may have become lodged. If this doesn't work then you will have to send it for repair.
Safe mode is to protect it from any more damage.

Safe gaurd

Safe gaurd mode can mean a number of different problems, most of the time being mechanical, if you are not a tech. you will need to take it in for service.
