Question about Acer (ACERMOTHERBOARD)
The way this post is listed I at thought it was a desktop at first but you mention a battery so I?m not sure now. Please let us know your make, model and what lead to this, i.e. its recent history.

When you say you replaced the PSU I take it to mean the external power supply that plugs into the laptop. I would not have recommended purchasing that for a drink spill. The likelihood is far greater that the problem lies in the main board which lies directly under the keyboard or perhaps the battery charging circuitry. If the computer was on then possibilities for potential damage are fairly large, however, a new laptop is going to run you at least $900. It might be worth your time to contact Acer to see what they can do. Sometimes manufacturers do repairs for flat fees regardless of the damage. Even a motherboard repair won?t cost more than a few hundred dollars which is a lot less than the cost of a new one.
Go to this link on Ebay. Im not recommending you buy this cupon, just scroll down and read the text at the bottom. This company will take your laptop, troubleshoot and repair the motherboard for you.

If you just want to go the route of buying a new board a Google search for Acer 1650 parts will turn up a number of sites that will sell that part. Unless you've successfully disassembled and reassembled a laptop before I wouldn't recommend you go this route.
Good luck.

This is a laptop. Acer model 1650. The poblem started with a drink being spilled on it. I took it apart and thoroughly cleaned it and it still doesnt work. I know its not the psu (whick someone else suggested) because I got another one and nothing changes. I guess my real question is if it worth fixing it or just buying a new laptop. I know there are a ton now that are extremely cheap. Thanks for your help, I really appreciate it.
I brought it in where I got it to get it fixed and they said $850. What would a new mother board cost and where could I get it? I would be able to replace it myself.
