Hi
This is pitambar Mahanta .
I have problem with my Dell poweredge 600sc server system.
There is no audio sound out put.
Can you please give me any idea & how to fix the problem ?
Dellpoweredge servers are not needed for sound. DELL support will notsupport any sound cards or care anything about your audio issues. Youwill not find audio drivers because again, a server's purpose has nothing to do with audio.
I had the same problem with my Dell 400SC - basically it's a driver issue with Windows Server2003. You can download and FORCE the install of drivers for the integrated sound card, or just buy a little cheap card or (like I did) use USB speakers as these work a treat.
I did a write up covering all the OS version on my Poweredge - hope it helps

Hi,
The failed boot could be from a number of issues, mostly hardware failure. I would start with the processors. If the system is using 2 cpu, I would remove the 2nd cpu, reboot checking to see if you still get the black screen. If you do, remove cpu 1 and put cpu 2 in cpu 1 slot are retry. If the system boot, replace cpu 1. If not, move to check ALL the memory cards installed.
This could be a lengthy process. What hardware/software changes was made before the issue started? Worse case, the server may have reached its end life and need to be replace all together. I would also recommend reaching out to HP support for more information about your system.
depending on the amount of memory and processor speed i have installed windows 2000, windows XP. Linux, windows 200 server and windows 2003 server. it all depends on hardware requirements.
Most servers (including the 600SC) were not designed for use with add-in video cards, thus, there is no jumpers or BIOS setting to disable the onboard video.
