Question about Dell E207WFP LCD Monitor
I was given the monitor with a small crack at one corner of the LCD panel. When the monitor is turned on the screen brightens a little, and won't do anything else. If the only problem is the LCD panel, then maybe it'll be worth fixing if I can ever find a cheap replacement, so... Should the screen be blank when the monitor's on, or does the monitor probably have some other problem? Or do I just not have enough data to tell?

The menu button doesn't seem to do anything. There is a vertical band of slightly-lighter-screen-area, about 3cm wide, that slowly moves from one side of the screen to the other, and if I press the button to the left of the menu button the band jumps to the center of the display.
(There are four buttons - from right to left: '+', '-', a menu button, and a button that has a monitor-like box with an arrow pointing into it.)
