I have installed a 2nd hand kenwood kdc-2020 that was working perfectly in my friends car. There is currently no sign of power in the face plate, but cds can be inserted and ejected using the eject button. There is obviously power going to it, and the security light is blinking when the face plate is off. The reset button doesn't produce a result. Any thoughts?
You need to make sure you are getting power to the red wire. Both the red and yellow wires need to have power going to them to make sure the radio works. Yellow should be constant power and controls the memory, red should be switched or ignition so it turns on and off with the key.

ttech's solution fixed the problem, just had to reposition the main line.
I have the same problem exactly what do you mean "reposition the main line"?
