Hello, on my sony ericsson W900i mobile i ran the update from there website which seemed to worked fine then after when i tryed to turn it on it took ages then when it finally turned on it said "Insert correct SIM card" i tryed several different SIM cards as this mobile is unlocked it turned on fine before Would the update of made the mobile locked or something any idea how i can fix this? Would it work again if i got it unlocked again?
I would try to re-install the update. Something didn't get installed correctly. But I would also get on the phone to them. It's also possible the "update" has an issue they may not be aware of. Good luck

Call them, it has to do with the update not with any of the settings on the phone. Mfg has to solve it for you.
You might try the dealer, they usually wil do it for free to satisfy the customer.
You need to call them. Better yet go to the dealer. The usually fix it for free to keep customers happy.
Hello again, took me awhile to find it for you. I believe you are trying to run the "Sony Ericsson Update Service". Is this the site you are talking about?

If this is what you are trying to install, then you call their support center or write to them, however you wish to contact them. Regardless if your phone is out of warentee, that's not the issue, the "upadte software" and related "upgrades" carry a "limited warentee" by the Mfg. ***Insiders tip: They have to support you at no cost. It's their responsibility when they provide updates to insure it works correctly on the product.*** Don't let them tell you different. Don't give up.
You can try and re-intall the service software on your computer again. Look for an "un-install" for either the upgrade service software or the phone software. Then re-run whaterver "update" you tried the first time. They will ask you to do this any way. Check and make sure you have the right download for your OS. After that if the problem isn't solved, then the problem is really in their hands. Again it has nothing to do with the warentee of your "phone".
They provided you with a "product" and they have to support it.
Please keep us posted.
