Help! I have to replace the battery compartment door. I have purchased the new part but I cannot see how to fit it; all the parts seem to interlink. Very grateful for any advice or help on this. Thank you.
I've got the same problem with my DiMage Z1. I've got the replacement door but I am unable to find directions on how to install the replacement.

Replacing the Batteries
1.Open front cover and locate the battery compartment door.
2.Gently remove the two "AA" alkaline batteries located in the battery compartment.
3.Install two new "AA" alkaline batteries into battery compartment. Make sure to
match the positive (+) ends of the batteries with the positive (+) terminals
located in the battery compartment.
4.Close battery compartment. The low battery indicator should not appear n the display
I assume you mean that the entry keypad works when the door is open but not when the door is closed. This usually indicates that the signal strength on the entry pad is low. Try changing the battery.
Insert a small Philips screwdriver in the opening on the bottom of the battery compartment cover. Pull the cover slightly outwards then pull the cover down. The battery in the compartment is a 9V battery. Then replace the cover by inserting the lip in the top of the battery compartment and then snap it into place.
If you change the battery quickly, you shouldn't need to reprogram the opener. If a new battery doesn't solve the problem, check what may be causing signal interference when the door is down. (Consider moving the keypad to a spot closer to the door opening. I know that we have the keypads placed on the side of the door jamb on our garage doors. When the small handheld remote units start to loose their batteries, bringing the remotes to that area that often works.)
The picture looks very much like the Walgreens brand, which is manufactured by HoMedics. If that is the case, you can access the batteries as follows:
1. The battery cover is located along the bottom side of the monitor. Remove the battery cover by pressing down and pulling away from the monitor.
2. Remove the old batteries and take note of whether they are corroded or not. Install the new batteries according to the polarity indications inside the battery compartment. It will require 2 - AAA Alkaline Batteries..
3. Replace the cover by inserting it back into place.
If the battery goes dead on the Intermatic ST01C or EJ500, the screen will not display. When replacing battery, wipe clean all the terminal points for battery and battery carriage
Yes, you can get new battery holder that comes with cover, part number is as follows: 175648311.... HOLDER, BATTERY (WITH TERMINAL Silver) DSC-W1 Camera will take apart to replace battery compartment. Hope these info will help you. Thanks.
remove two small phillips head screws next to battery compartment,,this will allow you to raise the camera case enough to insert the tabs from the new battery door cover, replace the screws,,,i just replaced mine not to difficult
Same problem, The small plastic tab that extends into the slot to keep the battery compartment door broke off. I can't locate a source for replacement part. I disassembled the slide and reversed it, breaking off the little tip that fit into spring, and it sort of works, but a new plastic slide would be much better.
I'm having the same problem with my DSC-W1 camera. I dropped my camera and the battery door latches broke.
I found a replacement door on Ebay for $9.95
I followed the instructions in the description and easily removed the broken door from my camera. Now i'm just waiting on the new door to arrive so I could slide the new door in.
I hope this was helpful.
Here's the seller I bought the door from. Hopefully the seller has more doors. =) :
Only by examining the camera your self will you find out
If you managed to purchase a part- perhaps an installation diagram is available from the same source.
I've got the same problem with my DiMage Z1. I've got the replacement door but I am unable to find directions on how to install the replacement.
