I am working with a 2100 whose image appears green tinted in both the viewfinder and LCD. Previous recordings seem to play back w/accurate color but new recordings still look green. All users presets that have been reset and both auto and manual WB tests yield the same result. I think one of the chips is fried- any possibility of something else?
For this problem u need to show this camera to a professional cemera repair person. As per my knowledge it is the fault of ccd connector which may be dusty.Cleaning this with cleaning sol'n. It will definatrly work. Otherwise the CCD need to be replace. Regards, Shailesh Ramteke Service Engineer (sony camera's & VTR's) [email protected] 9920313597
It's a known problem at sony, check this site: http://esupport.sony.com/US/perl/news-item.pl?mdl=DCRVX2100&news_id=118
The image will not appear simultaneously on the LCD
monitor and the viewfinder. It will appear in the
viewfinder when the LCD monitor is in the lock position,
and it will appear on the LCD monitor when fully
extended.

I sent it in to Sony and it was covered. Thanks for all your help!
Our company DCR-VX2100 is suddenly plagued with a pinkish/reddish tint in the view screen, and the video comes out with the same color. My boss has tinkered with all the buttons plus reset the camera with the battery removed, but it is still showing and taping in pink. Could it be one of the "chips" or "CCDs" has gone out?
Camera will not white balance.
Tapes recorded on otehr cameras play fine. Tapes recorded in the vx2100 aquire a green tinge which shows up when played in any camera
