SOURCE: CD445 voice message icon won't stop flashing

This feature is country dependent and may not
appear in some countries.
If you have subscribed to the voicemail service
from your local service provider, icon turns
on when you have a new message in your
mailbox. After you have accessed to all the new
messages, icon will turn off automatically. If
you find that the message waiting indication
cannot be turned off by the network, you can
still turn off the message waiting indication with
your phone by the following step :

In idle mode, if voice mail waiting icon is on,
long press the redial key to turn off the voice mail waiting
icon.
Once you choose to delete the message waiting
indication, all the other handsets registered to
the same base station will turn off the message
waiting indication accordingly.

I have a VTech 6929 Phone system. I have tried everything in the manual instructions, but I cannot set up my mail box. I had it previously, and somehow it is gone. Can you help?

Question edited for clarity.

This phone system has two features.

Answerphone system which records messages to the unit.
and
Voice Mail System which is an extended (often paid) service from your telephone provider.

Sometimes a glitch at the Telcom will remove your Voice Mail. You will need to phone their customer service number and ask why they stopped the service you previously enjoyed? They will be able to put it back in place.

How to set up voicemail

VoiceMail is not a function or feature of the VTech cordless
phones.

VoiceMail is an option offered by some (not all) telephone
service providers, and each of those who do offer the feature
employ specific procedures unique to themselves.

Check with your Telephone Service Provider to see if you
can have a VoiceMail service activated and how to go about
using it.

Good luck!

Vtech model CS6429-5 will not take messages and new voice mail message is always on the screen. When you go to play message it states you have no message. Is there a simple fix?

There seems to be two separate issues here.

Your phone will not take messages if it the answering system is turned off. See page 37 of the manual: http://www.vtechphones.com/support/general/manuals

You apparently have unheard messages on the voicemail system provided by your telephone company. This system records messages when someone calls while you're already on the phone. Please contact your telephone company for instructions on accessing their voicemail system.

You might want to check the ring count on both systems. If they're both set the same, it's possible the phone company's voicemail system is picking up calls before your answering machine.

I have a phone from Vtech

Having researched this phone, the message feature you have is voicemail. The machine itself does not have an answering machine in or on it. First make sure that you have voicemail through vonage. And check with them that the voicemail notification that they provide is compatable with the Vtech phone. Next try these steps Tip 1 of 7 Your phone is designed to work with most local and regional telephone service providers? voice mail systems. Voice mail (also known as voice messaging) is a subscription service, available from most service providers for a fee. This feature does not work in conjunction with your home answering device. Contact your local telephone company for more information about their voice messaging system. Tip 2 of 7 Your voicemail feature is compatible with both stutter and FSK signals from your local phone service provider. Contact your service provider to ensure you are receiving one or both of these signals. Tip 3 of 7 Move the handset closer to the base. The operating range may vary with environmental conditions and time of use. There may be places within your environment that a cordless phone will not work well. If the VOICEMAIL light on the base is flashing in the presence of unheard messages, however your handset does not display MESSAGE WAITING, it is likely your handet is out of range from the base. Tip 4 of 7 Other electronic products (i.e., 802.11 wireless networking products, radios, radio towers, pager towers, cell phones, intercoms, room monitors, televisions, personal computers, kitchen appliances and other cordless phones) can cause interference with your cordless phone. Try installing your phone as far away as possible from these types of electronic devices. Tip 5 of 7 The VOICEMAIL light on the base will flash and MESSAGE WAITING will be displayed on the handset only if there new, unheard messages. Once all new messages are heard and the phone is returned to the idle (OFF) mode, these indicators will be turned off. Tip 6 of 7 If the handset is not responding normally, you may need to reset your telephone system. Complete the following steps to reset the telephone system: Step 1: Disconnect the power to the telephone base. Step 2: Disconnect the handset battery. Step 3: Wait a few minutes and then reconnect the power to the telephone base. Step 4: Reconnect the handset battery Step 5: Wait about one minute for the handset to re-establish a link with the telephone base and then test the phone again. Tip 7 of 7 If the other phones in your home are having the issue, the problem could be related to the telephone wiring in your home, or with your local telephone service. Please call your service provider for further assistance. If this does not help, repost with further info. Please rate this solution throigh fix-it. Thank you
