Problem with kodak z650 camera wont stay on

When I switch on the camera the orange light flashes then switches off screen stays blank. Odd times the orange light turns green and screen lights up but then after a few seconds it goes off again.

SOURCE: when i try to turn on my kodak MD41 the light goes

Hello

The problem is that the lens has become stuck in the barrel. There are some DIY solutions you could try, but the probability is that you will have to get it fixed by a professional.

Use these at own risk as it may further damage the camera.

Firstly , try connecting your ac adapter or usb cable.

Try holding the shutter button while switching on the camera.

Look at the lens , and if some of the lens 'circles' is misaligned or not concentric then try wiggling it (while holding camera lens down).

Try gently pushing or pulling the lens when it extends but this is risky as it may cause the lens barrel to slip out of its guidance system.

Another way to do this is to place the camera lens down on a hard surface and then power it up. Be sure to use a soft cloth or something similar as to not scratch your lens or casing. Let the lens push the camera up and down a few times and sometimes the little resistance provided by the camera is enough to get things going again.

Try hitting your camera near the lens on the body with the soft tissue on the palm of your hand.

Other than that , I would take the camera to a repair center for a evaluation to see if it would cost more to repair than to replace the camera.

If it is still under warranty I would suggest you take it in before trying any of these steps and remove any off-brand batteries or accessories as some stores are really fussy about warranty repairs on camera's with non-brand accessories.

You can also have a look at THIS link.

Hope the advise is useful. please do not hesitate to let me know if you need any further assistance.

Regards
Andrea

SOURCE: Kodak easyshare M893 IS will not stay on. The

Make sure that you are installing a fresh/ full charge battery
Here are the steps:
1. Make sure you will install a new or fully charged battery/batteries into your camera.
2. Clean the battery contacts.
a. Remove the battery/batteries and the memory card from your camera, then wipe the battery contacts with a soft, clean cloth.
b. Reinstall the battery/batteries into your camera
3. Without the memory card, turn on your camera.
4. Pls test with an alt. batt.
If you do not have access to a dif. battery.
Pls. take the batt out of the camera. Insert the charger into the unit from the main socket and turn the camera on. If the camera works you will need to replace the batt. If not you will need to order a No power repair.

I have a kodak easyshare z650 and i cannot format an 8gb sd card,

The Z650 is designed to work with SD cards. Your 8GB card is actually an SDHC (Secure Digital High Capacity) card. While an SDHC card will fit into an SD slot, it will not work properly. You'll have to stay with SD cards 2GB and smaller.

Z650 won't stay on

Check and or replace the small button battery on the bottom of the cam. You can use a quarter to open the cap. remember which side of the battery is facing up when you open it, VERY important.

Camera will not turn on. As I rotate the selector switch the light flashes at each position. Even when I switch it to off the off light flashes on and off. The screen stays on but it is blank.

Hello, Did you try pressing the little silver button marked "EVP/LCD" it is located at the left of the view finder,This turns the screen on and off.
Hope this takes care of problem.
