Top of screen is converged corretly bottom of screen isn't
I have a problem with my screen. It just happened after I got a power serge. I tried sdjusting the convergence in the menu screen but it just fixes the middle and top of the screen not the bottom. Also the auto converge doesn't work. It just shows one green square and then just stops and goes back to the menu screen. Is there anyway I could fix this myself? Its been a year and 3 months and I would probably be charged alot to get this fixed I am thinking. Any suggestion would be appreciated. Thanks.
I am not sure but I will check. Really all I need to do is fix the convergence in the service menu and it should be fine. I have another question. I did fix my own problem by going into the service menu. But now everytime I turn on the tv. It shows the welcome screen. The "power surge" you got, was it because of an electrical storm or was it it because a power transformer blew in the neighborhood? I mentioned this only because if it occured due to a power company problem, I'd file a claim with them. They may just pay for your repair. It's worth looking into. Check with a neighbor, they may have had problems too.

Hello; You have a failed convergence board. JVC does NOT give me ANY info. They won't even talk to me on the phone! On some sets, there is a digital convergence board and a power convergence board that actually drives the convergence yokes on each of the 3 CRT's. If you have both, either one is bad and probably expensive. I recommend people Don't buy JVC products due to their bad reputation. John
You have a convergence issue. First question in customer menu under setup do you have the convergence optioin? IF you DO NOT then chances are you have the fl231 problem. check under my profile in the tips and trick section. IF you do have the option try autoconvergence. if this fails(goes red screen then you might have a convergence power supply problem.
You have a convergence problem. i see these set all the time at shop. first consult the article in tips and tricks section the fl231 fuse problem. it might provide some answer and might turn out to be a simple repair. If you do not have the convergence option under setup in customer menu then i say you have that problem.. otherwise it sounds like a convergence power board issue. if you have the options try autocovergence first and then if that fails try manual convergence of red and blue if the dont move then it will be convergence power board. let me know and ill try to talk you through it
If the convergence is missing in the menu in screens,you have a bad reg ic on the convergence power supply the part number is 215530,the power supply is located on the black plastic above the right module with all the heat sinks
