It sounds like the backlight in your player may have failed. You will have to take the unit to a qualified technician for repair, because there are no user serviceable parts inside. I wish I could give you better news.

It also inclides Media Player Classic.
To play DVD open the program, drag the folder VIDEO_TS from your DVD disk and drop it in the program's window. Double click on the picture to toggle full screen and window modes.

Im guessing that if you can hear sound but have no picture and this is newly installed that your unit is wired to your parking brake as a safety feature. You need to disconnect it and connect the wire to the radio ground to bypass it.

Unable to get play dvd or get picture on DVD channell on tv

If the player is doing that for all DVDs but playing CDs properly, the player has gone bad due to either the laser and lens being out of whack or the DVD drive just doesn't recognise DVDs anymore and needs repaired or replaced.

Give this a try. Using your user's manual, locate the "Configuring your recorder" section. Under this section there will be "System setup - general" subsection. Being that you are unable to see anything on your tv display you will need to use your manual as your display. Press the "SETUP" key on your remote. Once again using your manual as your display, scroll down to "Restore factory settings" and press "ENTER" As long as you are located in North or Central America and using interlaced video outputs you should have your normal display back.

How to change from tv to dvd mode

the difference between tv and av, is that av has no showers on the screen. if you change to av you will notice a blue screen, connect your yellow on vedio output and white/ red on audio out of tv
note- before connecting to a vedio touch a tip of your vedio cable some lines will show on your screen, if touch your audio tip harming noise will sound on your tv. if this two happens then you know that your cables are okey. hold your channel button on your tv, channel will start runing after all rf channels finish, tv will go to av.
